Sony Ericsson's Android XPERIA

So THIS is the Android phone SE's been working on! Been wondering when we'd see it. It's expected to be announced later this year. There appears to be no QWERTY slide out in sight, and while I prefer having the keyboard, I still can't help but want to see this device on T-Mobile with AWS bands Just look at the specs quoted below! Wow... very nice.

The phone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon platform, that enables processor speeds up to 1 GHz, and HSPA-speeds up to 7.2 Mbps. This platform will also sport great 3D graphics capabilities.

The phone's built-in camera is an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus. There's also a 3.5 mm jack connector as well as a mini-USB connector at the top of the phone. The touch screen seems to be quite large, but as of yet there is no specific information about its size.

blah! i dont like the looks but i do like the guts. nothing against sony ericsson, but whats the deal with all these ppl making android handsets without the physical...i mean come on man, did the g1 do some damage to the android look or is it the fact everyone is trying to mimic or kill the iphones in looks.....put a keyboard on the thing...if you can make the x1 so small with windows why not with android.

It looks like the Nokia N95 somewhat when closed.

Ok I'm now up to three android phones that I would like to get my hands on.  This new sweet looking thing of beauty with a normal regular form, that will fill nicely in ones pocket, the sammy phone, and the huwei phone.  This as of right now is on top of the list.

I'm not a touch screen-only fan, but I'm crossing my fingers that this comes to T-Mobile.

I'm with you on this one. There certainly is a market for Android devices with QWERTY keyboards. No one hasn't thought of the idea of using a Treo-like form factor with a touchscreen and a front-facing QWERTY. You have a touchscreen, a QWERTY and a phone with reasonable thickness. I'd love SE to do this device with a sliding QWERTY.

Dear god, not TouchWiz. That would be a worsening, not an improvement. Android is not WM, it doesn't really need a terrible UI skin.

Yeah, I don't want to see touchwiz over Android.  Though the UI's of Android and touchwiz are faintly similar, but it would be pointless.  Everything is making me want android, the more I look at it, the more I like it, and everything gets me excited.

The only reason why I prefer my G1 is the physical keyboard, having said that I will take another Sony Erickson  without a QWERTY any day of the week!

My old W800i I loved and would probably take it's 2mp flash camera with autofocus over anything android has to offer so far! And it's screen was amazing.

I may even get this unlocked if the price is right.
