My thoughts exactly. This is a bit disappointing, here we all were thinking we're finally getting something special but NOPE - everyone else and their mother will carry it  :-\

Leads me to wonder if the days of each carrier having different phones will end one day soon (i.e. every carrier will always end up with every other carrier's phone, only diff being maybe a few exclusivity contracts here or there)

those days cant end, wouldnt be any competition....the worst part about this whold tp2 thing is they'll probably have it before we do...if that happends its done with me and the pro2

yea but sprints kinda iffy.....remember how long they delayed the pro and the diamond.....im hoping its the same thing in this case plus either two things will happen...they can kill the pre with the pro2 or the pre can kill the pro2...whichever way it goes im doubting this phone will be released on time....

Isn't T-Mobile pretty good at delaying things as well? As in.. on par with Sprint? Or not really?

At least Tmo is good about not putting crippled carrier specific builds on their phones.

yes tmobile does have thier share of delays, but its not as bad as sprints delays...they delayed the pro twice....thats just says "hey im sprints touch pro and i have problems".

At least Tmo is good about not putting crippled carrier specific builds on their phones.
youre about 90% right...tmobile doesn't usually release phones with software problems, but remember when the g1 first came out....it wasnt that bad but it had issues....

Not that I'm trying to drag this thread into the off topic territory, but the G1 was pretty much the first release of a phone with the Android software, I don't think anyone could have gotten it right on the first go round.

As for the TP2, I have to ask T1... is it just that you want to be able to have a carrier's exclusive device? I do realize that if every carrier has it first it's like you're hooking up with a girl who's been with EVERYONE else (football team) and that's a bit of a let-down... but that doesn't mean the TP2 won't be good to you ;) Should be an awesome device, I'm still droolin over it.. VerizateeteeSprint monster gobbling it up first or not

actually the exclusivity has something to do with it. i want tmo to have it first...like the wing with wm6 and the g1.....i only buy htc phones and since the magic is gone to vodaphone..i was hoping tmo would get if first (you know to show it off) but thats gone from me too so now im stuck again with waiting for the g2 and the tp2 to make a decision..

check this out folks.... my last post to specific: http://forums.tmonews.com/index.php?topic=9249.20
We should be the first ones to get it. But then again... the more carriers that have it, the user better customization there will be. Example, remember the MDA. Many carriers had it so it became great with many more customized ROMs and applications because so many had one. Plus, we'll still be the first carrier to get it. Engadget is wrong about Sprint and the June release date. The FCC docs clearly state that it (Sprint's version) has a confidentiality request until October 31st, 2009. Plus, we can't complain too much. T-Mobile didn't even try to get exclusivity on this device. They are banking everything on Android still.

I am sticking with my G1 and Android based platform phones. Yeah Tmobile seems to MOST of the time release the device with the least hardware based problems over the other carriers.
