I just read about this... Am I the only one that can't read that thing?
I support anyone who brings about competition and innovation. Be it Google, Apple, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Palm, Microsoft, RIM, LG, Sharp, or anyone else I may have forgot. Variety is great. What's good for one person, is dead wrong for another.

Still no solid proof for BB driftwood. I think we just have to wait until next year for the 3G blackberry.

Well my dreams of an i7500 were shortlived. G1v2 has the appeal of the most recent HTC devices AND android. Hopefully that keyboards a breeze to use

i7500/7508 may come as unlocked/generic phone (no carrier branding)
this is exactly what I want

For the wait, I'll be expecting the G1 v2 to have the same hardware as the Touch Pro2, with a 5 megapixel camera, of course.

The G1 was a huge disappointment for me (love the software, but hate the hardware) so I'll be expecting a lot in round 2!

Had you bought a branded one you can still use it to its fullest extent just as you would an unlocked one. Thats the glory of XDA and Android. I'm running ADP firmware on my G1 and, as such, its basically an unbranded phone without any traces of t-mobile anywhere in the software

same as TM506
SE version is many "x" better, hard to count
hopefully CS5 and CS8 will have SE version fw like TM506, and I'll go for it
I seriously hate branding, after testing T919 and T929

Theres a big difference between the TM 506 and the generic one vs the G1/Dev Phone. Huge difference. Which is why if you were to buy it on t-mobile, unlock it, use unbranded firmware, you'll still be in the same boat you would be in had you went the unbranded route. The only way to distinguish my phone as a G1 rather than a dev phone is the t-mobile branding on the handset
