I am unhappy with my BlackBerry. I'm doing battery pulls every 6 hours. I used to get a week of uptime with this phone. I am willing to go to a Curve 8900 or Bold however. It is also sluggish. Try Slacker. It sucks for Slacker, you can't even move the trackball when songs start playing because of the hourglass. I had to reboot 5 times yesterday. 2 for memory issues, 1 for uninstalling apps, 1 lock up and 1 hourglass. I am willing to wait a few months since I have an 8700 for a backup phone, it's not bad.

I'm looking for a good camera, stability, and preferably a QWERTY keypad. I also want Word document editing. I've been looking at the E71 but the camera is not so great. The N85 also looks interesting, but since I do a lot of messaging (2000+ e-mails and IMs), I don't know how I'd adjust to T9. From my experiences, I would rather use a touchscreen keyboard than T9. The phone is going to last at least a year because T-Mobile isn't getting 3G phones out in a timely manner.

I would spend even more time having my device reboot, so no thanks. I also don't want to inflict cruel and unusual punishment on myself by using WM.

I don't like touchscreen only devices to begin with. If they have a resistive touchscreen, I'm running far away.

Maybe you should try S60 out? If not the E71, then maybe the E75 [slide out QWERTY] or the upcoming E55 [Suretype-style, long standby time - 28 day in GSM mode - and 3.2MP EDOF cam]?

Why not just go ahead and go with the 8900?

That's probably what I'm going to do since there is no BeejiveIM for S60. I'm also waiting for a verdict on the 8900's camera since Flickr can't find any photos taken by the 8900 right now.

I wish there was version for S60, every other IM app either doesn't work as well or is a battery killer. I found some pics taken with the 8900 on CB that'll help. I know there was another thread, I'll update the post when I can find it.

All of the pics I have posted recently are with my 8900.  I'll take some with better lighting tomorrow if you like.

I'm going with the 8900. BeejiveIM is too good to give up because S60 just has bad IM apps (IM+ sucks and it costs $50.) Plus, I like my BlackBerry with the exception of lag and memory leaks which is why I'm buying the 8900.

The 8900 is a really nice phone. You will love it.

I think I've answered this question before. ;)

It has no physical keyboard. With the amount of total combined messages I send (2000+), it's a dealbreaker.
