seems the dev updated Lite from 1.1.0 (supposedly frozen here save for bug fixes) to 1.1.3 after-all :|  But supposedly the pay version has some more desktop management options, according to the Market description.

I am sorry but how do you get the aHome app to launch?  I can not figure it out.  I keep reading hit the home key but I am clueless with this stuff.  Can someone help me out?

after you install the application hit the HOME key on your g1, the key that has a house on it to the left of the trackball... when you do that it should pop up a menu saying aHome or Home.... letting you pick which to load... hit the aHome button and then it will load the program.

Hope that helps

Haha wow Ima an idiot...thanks for the help, got it working fine, thanks

Mod edit to fix position in post

Open Home has 7 fixed screens, supports skins (the dev has used several themes from XDA), supposedly supports widgets but I haven't seen any yet and I don't know if he has a guide for other devs to follow to make widgets for his home screen.  It supposedly supports auto rotation, but since I already have that I can't test it.

It otherwise looks just like the regular Home screen.

I guess I like it because it is well...free.  I also like the fact that I can return to the main home screen with a single swipe down or up.

Also this program uses the accelomiter to sense the phones orientation and adjusts the screen accordingly.  Also it is rumored that the widgets and the themes are going to be free.

Open Home has a pay version coming.  aHome has a free version, btw ;)

Open Home's themes are already free, the dev... "ported"... them from the themes from xda.

The swipe up or down on Open Home is a bit quicker than aHome's Back or Home button to return to the main screen.

aHome has the Dock, though, which is a large bonus to me :)

**edit** aHome now autorotates and you can set whichever screen you want as the main screen to go back to.
