Is anybody else having issues with their @Home router?  Mine keeps kicking me off of wireless on my laptop and when I try to find it again, it says that the signal strength is too low to connect.  My laptop and router sit on the same desk so it shouldn't be a problem with range.  Other than that, the home phone part of it works great, although I hardly ever use it.

I haven't had any problems with mine so far. - It could also be a problem with your wireless receiver on your laptop. I would try:

1. unplugging power to both modem and router
2. Plug power into modem
3. As soon as modem has established connection - plug in wireless router.

If youre still having consistent issues. - if you're running Windows. right click on your network icon on the trayicons then click "diagnose and repair" while its saying low signal or connectivity.

This should fix your problem - if not, post what errors/problems youre still running in to and we can explore from a more high-level approach!

Hey AB, you (or your neighbors) don't happen to have any other 2.4 GHz devices around that would be interfering with the WiFi signal, do you? In the past, I have had apartment dwelling clients that were getting kicked off of their WiFi by cordless telephone use, baby monitors, etc.

I think I have figured it out.  Apparently the router has different channels you can set it to that determine what frequency it broadcasts at.  Mine was set to channel 6 by default, and I changed it to channel 11 (the highest) and the reception went down to 2 bars.  When I set it to channel 1 (the lowest) I was back to getting 5 bars and so far a good connection.  We'll see how this goes.

That can make a huge difference and best thing to do is just try as many as possible.  You can usually avoid interference by finding what channel has the least competition for spectrum.  It seems 1 is probably best in your situation.  11 seems to work best in my apartment.

Welp, I thought I had fixed it but it just kicked me off again.  What's the most annoying about the whole thing is that once it kicks me off, it will not let me jump right back on, and gives me an error saying that it can't connect.  Sometimes the network doesn't even show up in the available networks after it kicks me off and I have to completely restart my laptop, which takes forever because Vista is awful.  Usually after a restart it starts working again.  I'm really starting to miss my old cheap little D link router, it never once kicked me off.

If you really prefer that old router, you can just hook the old router up to the @Home router to use it for wireless and disable to wireless on the @Home router.

You must also set one of the routers as a "bridge".

Not necessarily, you can have a double NAT, and it really doesn't reduce efficiency by that much (You're not a corporation)... OR, some routers can automatically switch to bridge mode if you plug a cord from the LAN port of the main router into the LAN port of the slave router (the older one). I know my Linksys does that. Works like a charm!

According to the instructions included with the router you can just simply plug one right into the other.

That would be a double NAT (if you wanna get technical ;) )
but yes... it can be done and it should work well too.

anyone?

Sorry dude, but I have no idea.  I would call @Home Technical Care.  I know sometimes they have some ungodly hold times, but it sounds like a problem they may have to look at for you.
