That is pretty awesome news. I would also not be shocked to see the price of the phones go up by 20 bucks though. At least. But hey, at least we no longer have to pay to upgrade!

As I announced it in the stores the reps that were there actually cheered and I Personally whooped out a "HALLALUJAH!!!!" That is pretty awesome news. I would also not be shocked to see the price of the phones go up by 20 bucks though. At least. But hey, at least we no longer have to pay to upgrade! It is easier to sell a higher priced handset than an upgrade fee...

If they raised the prices it would have to be for new customers too since the prices mirror each other in almost every case. Now what you could see is an end to any upgrades that were cheaper than new pricing. For example right now the Nokia 5310 is free on a fully eligible upgrade vs. $20 for new customers.

It's great that they finally got rid of that crazy fee.
What is an RSM? I tried calling Customer Care to ask about getting the $18 refunded since I am within my remorse period, but I was denied. I JUST upgraded my phone on this Sunday that passed.

call back... tell them it's in streamline to credit back the $18 if upgrade was between dec 4th-17th "14 day price protection – For customers that call in and inquire, Care is empowered to credit back the $18 upgrade fee (on a reactive basis) for upgrades from December 4 through December 17. California customers will be given credit if they were charged within 30 days. "
