I have one line with T-mo. I hate how if my BB doesn't have data or if I need for them to troubleshoot, I have to be on a different phone, which is something I don't have. I don't want to have sign a contract just for a new phone line.

That kind of sucks....I'm not sure what your options would be on that one.  What about using a friends phone?

and you don't HAVE to be on a different phone, it just makes it more conveniant

well lets see... being on the phone in question eliminates almost all device and network troubleshooting that can be performed... so aside from general provisioning issues it's definitely more than "convenient"

They can tell you what to do, then you write down the steps... and then call back.

and multiple phone calls are one of the main issues in the centers right now... customers are never happy if they have to call back even if it's an unrelated issue so while not required it is very highly recommended to use a different phone

there will be a ton of changes coming in Q1 as to how tech calls are handled, including updated content in the form of self help on tmobile.com, e-mail ts steps (pda first, then tech, then maybe even care), and a focus on true one call resolution

from what i've heard the changes will be major and will benefit customers quite a bit

oh and to the OP... you can find almost any ts step for your bb on blackberry.com... just search your issue (basically a primus just for bb)

also if you are having e-mail issues go to myt-mobile.com, bottom of the main page, click on manage blackberry e-mail... send yourself the service books (corrects a good number of delivery issues)

I tried setting up the at home with some equipement that I bought on ebay thinking I could just add this as a feature to my account and not be on a contract.  Wrong.
They did give me a $30 credit since they didn't have to send me a router or adaptor and there was no activation fee.
