Java Application Installation for Samsung Behold (SGH-T919)
Necessary Programs for Installation: TKFileExplorer 2.2
Download http://azev76.free.fr/U700/JavaInstall.rar
The .jar and .jad files for the application.

Step1. Download and install TKFileExplorer. In the same .rar file, open SAMSUNG_Composite_USB_Driver_4_34_WHQL.zip and choose the Setup.exe file. This will install the necessary Samsung Driver to use TKFileExplorer.
Step2. Open TKFileExplorer and go to Settings then choose COM. On port, click the drop down menu and choose the port that is visible (something like port 5/port 6). NOTE* you must NOT be connected in pc studio program. Now click on FILE and CONNECT.

Step3.
On the bottom half of TKFileExplorer, browse through these folders Exe/Java/Games. Now that you are in games, create a new folder. Name it after what you are going to install (for example, Google Maps, Gmail, Opera Mini etc). Now you will need to place the .jar & .jad files of the program you will be installing. On the top half of TKFileExplorer, browse through to where you saved the application files (.jar/.jad) and select them both. Now right click and choose ‘Download’. All done for this part.

Step4. Open up your dial pad and enter the following, *#6984125*#. Choose INTERNALS and enter the following, *#9072641*#. Now scroll down and choose Storage Settings. Then update Java DB, followed by update apps database. Now you are finished. Go to Menu>Applications/Apps & Games. Your newly installed app should be visible!!!

How is this different from inebriat3d's?  Apart from not being Google Maps centric?

I'll sticky one of them....

(I think some screen shots might even be a good idea, though.  :))

Well when I get to the second step to choose the COM location, it doesn't show any ports.  I can manually type the port number but when I connect it says "unable to open specified port".  Am I doing something wrong?

Not sure if this question belongs here, but I'll ask. Does anyone know what type of documents the Behold can view? According to samsung.com the Behold has document viewer but they don't specify what they mean by it. Can you view excel, word, powerpoint, etc on the Behold?

You don't have to thats just what works on getjar.com I have downloaded a lot of games and apps that are 240 x 320 in size and don't say which phone they were made for and they work great on mine.  Google search for wap sites you may find some free sites that you can download directly to your phone.

so i tried all this. i was trying to install the youtube app, i put the jar and jad files in the "Youtube" folder under exe/java/games. and i updated the database and everything. i see the app in the games and apps part of the phone, but when i hit it, it says invalid format. what is wrong. also. do the jar and jad files go in the folder? i accidentally put jar file outside of the folder, and its not letting me delete the file. any help?

Your problem with deleting the file reminds me of a problem I was having.  I found that the driver for the modem was not the one that the posts on using TkFileExplore suggested.  I forced an installation of the driver that was specified, and everything went on or came off using TkFileExplore without problems after that.

So check your driver version.

i never used the driver that came with TKFileExplorer mostly because I believe that is actually for the f480 or Tocco which this program was made for.  i installed PCstudio3 which is found on the samsung website and it installed the driver for my phone for me.  Then I just never used PC Studio because all i wanted was the driver for my phone so i could use it in PC Studio mode instead of Mass Storage.

Also yes the Jar and Jad files go in the folders  You place them the name of the app folder.  You place that folder in the games folder which is in the java folder which is in the EXE folder.

So basically Phone:>EXE>JAVA>GAMES>(folder with apps name)>Jad and Jar files

bam disconnect phone go into internal settings update apps and Java database and 60% of the time it works everytime LOL

PS  If it doesn't show a com in the app then you either A)dont have the right driver installed or B) have the phone in mass storage mode(if its this the phone will be a black screen with a spinning yellow circle)

And I'll post this here like I did on the gmaps thread  You can skip to about 1min 20 sec in because its just about downloading games for the first minute

LOL nice.  Okay so when you connect via bluetooth does it say connect via PC suite?  or Mass Storage thats the way it will for USB and it has to be connected as PC suite.  Download PC Suite 3 and see if you can ceonnect to it.  If you can then you should be able to connect to Tiki.  That is just a guess tho but doesn hurt to try.

Guess I'll go ahead and sticky this....maybe it'll alleviate some of the redundant posts.  We can hope, right?  ;)
