I know this has been discussed in other posts...but I thought I would make a dedicated post for this.

1)From the dial pad...dial *#6984125*#
2)Goto Network&Call Settings
3)Goto Connections
4)Goto Browser
5)Change Access name to      internet2.voicestream.com
6)Goto Home URL and change to homepage of your choice (mine is www.yahoo.com)
7)Save
8)Reboot Phone
9)Goto HTML website (ie.www.phonedog.com) to make sure that it works.

HTML sites may take longer to load due to the increased data transfer.

I have the 24.99 internet plan and the access name on my phone said epc.tmobile.com. If I deleted port 80 on the proxy but left the epc.tmobile.com the phone would still reroute through t-zones. If you change the access name to internet2.voicestream.com you don't have to change or delete the proxy.
When you press the web button on the phone, it will take you to the voicestream site...not the tmobile web2go site...at this point, you can press the home icon at the top of the web page and it will take you to your chosen homepage...in my case yahoo.

If you run into a problem, you can restore your default setings by following steps 1-3 above, and at the bottom of the page you will see a restore button...pressing this will restore your settings to their default settings.
Remember...after every time you change your settings, you have to reboot your phone for the settings to take effect.
ALSO you will have to re-save all your favorite web sites with the new settings...if you don't, and try to access them with the old web settings you will get an error.

I know it's been covered...but rather than search through several pages of another post, I thought it would be easier to make it a separate post.

In step 4...ours doesn't have an option for "browser".  Is this because we have the 19.99 plan??

It should be the first choice under Network Profiles. What does yours say? I had it with the 5.99 t-zones plan...so you should have it as well

Myspace stays m.myspace.com(mobile) for some reason. I haven't been able to get it full.
I have also noticed that some sites auto redirect to the mobile site. I assume that because the browser is supposed to be restricted to wap sites only and  Wap.t-zones.com is sending out packet information to redirect to the mobile version.
If we can get rid of the wap.t-zones.com from the main browser button, it would probably solve this.
I am, however, encouraged by the ability to hack into the browser and tweak the settings and can see that this phone has some potential...
Give it some time and experimentation, and I'm sure the browser will be alot better.

If it works for you with the 5.99 plan then even better, you save money. I had that plan and for some reason, I couldn't get it to work until I switched to the 24.99 plan. I wish it did though.
Well, after playing with myspace for awhile, I managed to get it to display in HTML...but thats it for now. This is what I did.
From the phone I googled myspace. The first three sites have a small cell phone icon next to the web address. I assumet€ his means that they are optimized for mobile.
The fourth one  says www.myspace.com/barackobama and has no cell icon next to the web address. I chose this site and it loaded myspace in full HTML...so it can be done...we just have to find the workaround for the main page.

That seems to work...I bookmarked the page and then rebooted. Then I reloaded the page from the bookmark and it works great...thanks...another step in the right direction.

What internet SOC should I have them add on when I call customer care if I have an employee line? which one would be the equivalent to the 24.99 plan? VPN internet, blackberry internet or G1 internet?  Huh?
