Hello.  I just picked up the Behold.  The only problem I have is that the volume for the ringer, messaging etc is very low. I have it set to "vibration and melody"  But whenever I get a call the ringer starts low and increases in volume.  It seems to be a glitch in the phone.  I do not have the ringer set on "increasing melody" option in my sound profiles.

When I set the ringer, I have the volume set at the highest.  And is loud when I preview the sound.  I press save.  But just goes back to starting low and increasing in volume.  I have tried out all other profiles but have the same result.  Anyone else have the same problem???  I am missing alot of calls and text messages because I cannot hear the alerts.  Thanks

Yup. I experienced the same problem. I just set my mp3s as the ringtones and msg tones, and now I can hear them just fine, because yeah, the default msg tones are really low lol

has anyone solved this problem? i have the same thing happening no matter what profile i use.  i called t-mobile and they had me do a full system reset, and that didn't fix it.  They said something is probably wrong with the phone and i could get a replacement.  but before i do that i just wanted to check and see if anyone found another way to fix it.  thanks

I have the same problem, i have the volume set to melody but still theres ascending ringtones. Is there anyway to make it so the ringtone starts OUT loud and not increase in volume?

for some reason, samsung likes doing that. most of the samsung sliders i've used are like that. to fix this problem, i placed 3 seconds of silence before all of my tones.

if you go to admin settings *#6984125*# then internal settings password is *#9072641*# then test mode i believe. then click on common i think its 8 there is volume adjustment a whole bunch of them for mp3 rcv and etc you can adjust the decibals i just  changed mine on the loudest one so the rest stay the same. im on my phone now let me get on the comp and i,ll finish

(Try this at your own risk)
Okay on computer now...
*#6984125*#

goto Internals
Master Key
*#9072641*# click done
click confirm
click 3 Test Mode
click 8 for Audio
there is
1 RCV Config
2 EAR Config
3 SPK Config
4 BTH Config
5 Common Config
6 Rebuild
7 LM49350 Config

you go into these setting to adjust volume all except 5 6 and 7
I'm not sure of 5 and 7 but if you mess something up like volume too low or to loud 6 restores it to normal
go to 1 2 or 3 it should look like this
1 Load Params
2 Dump Params
3 Call Config

goto 3

when you see that page click on the one for Vol or Volume
the first screen is READ (you can't adust from here)

click on the last number (should be 6) that's the loudest setting
and Read turns into WRITE

now you can adjust

at the bottom (below the number pad) click on the spot with the blinking cursor

then you can put in the decibal you want it to ring at
It has to be like this

put in 100 for 10 dB
put in 50 for 5dB
put in 40 for 4dB

if you just put 4 it will be 00.4 dB

Hope you understand....

Okay after your done just hit end key (hangup key)
and try it out you may have to restart your phone I can't remember if I did.

I got this info from the F480 settings info on another webstie (not much info out there, but still cool to know)

I set mine at 5 dB but its to high on some ringtones try 3.5 or 4 maybe that might work better ( I dont remember what the original setting is) also I changed one of the settings and my ear nearly blew off when I talked on the phone! so be carefull I think the RCV one is for ringtones some of the others are for bluetooth? maybe and for when speaking on the phone anything to do with sound basically

It was the same when I adjusted the rcv settings ( I also adjusted the mp3 volume setting) anyways messages work to the only thing is that on mine the first 2 seconds of the messages and ringer is extremely low then loud enough to hear.  I thought that even with an mp3 as ringer or message it was still extremely quiet thats why I adjusted my settings

Hi guys!  I'm a new member to the forums and a new owner of the Samsung Behold.  I've read through and successfully changed the decibel rating as listed by spinn, but after restarting the phone and having someone text me several times, the melody is the same level.

Anybody have such luck?  I've only adjusted the RCV Write level (Mainly because SPK, EAR and BTH seem short for speaker phone, ear and bluetooth settings).
