I found Studio PC 3.2.2 HG5 - this is the one that Samsung recommends for the Behold with WinXP.  I installed it, but when I plug in my phone is still says, "windows found new hardware...insert installation CD now."  It recognizes the phone as Samsung CDMA technologies.  HELP!!

Update:  Okay...I was looking for this to be a plug-and-play configuration.  There is a step inside PC Studio for connection the phone.  I did that and it is working.  Goosfraba (anger management)

how exactly did you get pc suite to recognize the device? I tried to manually connect and it still fails and keeps asking for the cdma driver.

This is really annoying i have tried both methods and nothing works! Why did they make this so hard to be recognized by our computers...i just wanna put music on it!!!

When the driver reqest pops up, skip the online search and tell it that you will select the driver manually, when you get the list of all the drivers that windows has, scroll down to modems and double click it.  Windows came up with two options for me:
Samsung CDMA Modem
Samsung Mobile Modem

Since the driver search was popping up that a Samsung CDMA device was being connected I selected the Samsung CDMA Modem, it alerted me that the drivers may not be for my device but loaded it anyway and PC Studio found the phone...

Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with the music.  I tried the pc studio, it still wouldnt recognize my phone.  I went back and talked to people at tmo and the girl went to the site where they get info for phones and asked me if I was clicking on the mass storage and saving.  Went home, clicked on it plugged into computer and it worked.  That may be something you want to check to see if its clicked or not.  Another bit of advice, it will not work if the phone is on a page, it has to be on home screen in idle mode.

I also just bought the behold and was having problems getting my computer to recognize the phone when it was plugged into my usb port.  I was finally able to get everything up and running today.

First I downloaded the newest version of samsung pc studio 3.2.2 from samsung's website (make sure you select the correct operating system).  Here is the link -

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDown.do?group=mobilephones&type=mobilephones&subtype=t_mobile&model_nm=SGH-T919&language=&cate_type=all&dType=D&mType=SW&vType=R&prd_ia_cd=01010300&disp_nm=Behold%20(SGH-t919)

Once you get that downloaded to your computer, you have to plug your phone into your usb port (do not leave it plugged in while the software is downloading).  When you plug your phone into your computer it should automatically install the drivers you need.

Select the "Menu" option on your phone, then "phone settings" and then select "USB settings."  Once you select USB settings it should give you the option to select "Samsung PC Studio," "Ask on Connection," or "Mass Storage."  If you select "Mass Storage" it will treat your phone as a removable hard drive and you can just manage the files on your phone without the use of Samsung PC Studio.  Samsung PC studio makes transferring files and managing the items on your phone a lot easier (I think).

Hopefully this information is helpful!  I know I've struggled to figure it out for about a week.  It definitely would have been helpful if the phone came with a disc because neither Samsung or Tmo's website really offer any technical support.   ????

i just checked the download center for the behold. and they introduced a modem driver as a download for the behold. im not sure if this will fix the problem of the computer asking for a driver. can someone please try this? ive been trying to install it, but im pretty sure im doing it wrong. please let me know if it makes a difference.

I had this problem with getting windows XP to install the drivers too. Windows would install but then says unable to start device (10). But today, I tried to plug the USB connection straight to the back of my pc instead of the front outlet and windows automatically recognize and install the samsung drivers (that I had tried to install the previous night) and it works fine now. I don't know why, but that seems to be the problem for me. See if it work for you.

For those of you who are having trouble connecting your behold to a windows XP machine, you need to do this:

Download the samsung software, update the software plug in the phone.

Now if your like me, you plugged in the phone before doing the updates thinking it would coordinate with the software and work anyway, not the case. You will notice when you plug in the phone, it knows what phone you have but won't update the drivers. In order to correct this issue, you need to go into the device manager (start -> administrative tools -> computer management -> device manager || right-click my computer -> device manager || right click my computer -> manage -> device manager), find your phone in the list (will probably have a yellow caution sign), right click, go to 'update driver'. it will prompt you to search for the driver and you will select "install from specified list". on the next window you will click the "Don't search, i will choose the driver" and hit next. This should bring up your phone in the window. Hit next, it will give you some message about not wanting to do it for verification purposes, ignore that and continue.

That should install the correct driver. If it prompts you with a list of available drivers, you will scroll down to 'modems' and then then you will see your phone in the list and hit next. that will install the driver and then all you have to do is unplug and replug in your phone.

your welcome

Uh, okay, I wanna see what I can update on my Behold but I have a Mac and I REALLY don't want to have to go out and buy Vista to install on it just for the phone. I don't like Windows. Is there any method for a Mac user or am I the only one that has a Mac and a Behold? Though, I doubt that.... Any help?
