Wow, I feel like I haven't posted on this forum in forever...

How is the email client?
Me too... I've been having too much fun with my G1 :D

I'm thinking about getting this for my wife.  I don't think she'd want a data plan... but I think she would like it for all the multi media applications and the great camera.

For those that own this...  Is the camera good enough to be a replacement for a standard pocket digital camera?

The flash is bright, but it wont replace a camera with a Xenon flash.

I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them.

This one I just took from my car yesterday when coming home from my office. No adjusments.

Great pic in sunlight for sure.... I'm wondering how this camera will perform in a bar or other dark room.  What's the wait time between pictures as well?

It's pretty quick. Faster than any other T-Mobile phone sans the Zn5.

I don't think there is one. You are stuck with teh stock images.

They aren't so bad.

So I got a question that doesn't seem to have come up yet.  Has anyone played around with the GPS on this yet?  How does it work?  Do you have to have TeleNav in order for it to function, or is TeleNav for turn-by-turn and the basic GPS funstions work without it?

I think I am going to go get this phone on my lunch, but want to know if GPS works without TeleNav since I am going to wait for a Gmaps work around.

Telenav seems wonky to me and slow. I think I just don't have the patience for it as I am used to TomTom on my Tilt.

I could not get Google Maps to download. Got a mismatch error when trying to install.

Anyone get Google Maps working?

Thanks Matt.  Do you know if TeleNav is the only way to access GPS information or can you get GPS location without it?  I just don't want to spend the extra $10/month when I know i can get it for free (if we can get it working.)

I honestly don't know. I haven't really messed with the GPS much. I have a stress fracture in my right foot and have kind of been limited to my house the past few days.

I was kind of hoping someone would chime in about Google Maps working on this device.

I had issues with posting the link.  As I said, just head to mini.opera.com and pick the link that says install a different version.  Scroll through the thread as I've already posted the instructions.

Everyone has been so helpful on this thread.  Sorry if this is redundant....

I really like the phone but I'm going to have to return it and get the G1 if I can't get accessible email on it.

Does anyone know whether it is possible or will be possible to get gmail on the phone (through an application and not via the web)?

Thanks!

Hey Kathy,

Have you tried the email java program under the messaging icon in the menu?  Works for me and it notifies me when I get new emails.  I use gmail for the default email.

That is a good question that I don't know the answer to.  I can try to figure it out.
