Have you tried turning the phone off and back on again? I would imagine that 3G and 2G are hooked into the same data network at the tower.

I have to say that I've had many times where the data connection will just stop working. You can see the up arrow blinking like it's sending data,  but never receives any back. I toggle the 2G only option in the settings menu to make it reset the data connection, and it usually starts working again. I've noticed the phone itself drop the data connection (Edge/3G icon goes away and comes back a few seconds later) if it stops working for long enough. I'd just go ahead and reboot the phone, see what happens.

I live just outside Orlando in an Edge area. This morning driving to Orlando, my phone switched over to 3G but when I tried to use it, it didn't work. When I went to a website, it said there was no network connection. I switched over to 2G/Edge and it worked fine. On my way back, I stopped in a suburb of Orlando and checked it around 11 and it worked but real slow. Maybe/hopefully it's just maintaince and will be up fully soon.

Edit: North,  Altamonte Springs area is where it worked but slow. Deltona area and down by the Airport off 436, didn't work at all but said 3G on the phone :(

Same here, I'm soo close to the line I can almost see it. I've heard they are supposed to expand quite a bit in the next 30/60 days! More North/East toward Daytona which wll cover me! Wahooo

Awesome ya that'll cover me too.  At my place I'm litterly like 1 street over from the coverage line.  Work is super close to one as well and my girl's place well no luck there for a bit but on the up-side I can pick up a TMo hotspot from her house so I just connect to that.

Although constant 3G would be just as good.  One less radio I would have to keep flipping on an off.
