i woukd also try to kill the device until it has no more charge in the battery. then leave it charging for about 8 hours. and it should be ok then. try it then let us know how it went. hope it works for you too.

I actually had my G1 die on me today at school. The battery died on me right before class, so I figured no big deal and I'll charge it when I get home.   I got home to charge the phone and the charger did not register and the phone would not turn on. I tried removing the battery, leaving it hooked up to the charger etc etc..nothing happened. Took it back to my local retail store and had it swapped out for a new one. I was pretty lucky they had another one in stock! But as far as your problem, like everyone said, make sure to cycle the battery a few times and you should be good ;D

I got it from a retail store. I'm not sure how the policy works for the internet pre-order phones. I would guess call customer care and ask them what you should do if you need to return your phone. Good luck!
