I think the main thing they were trying to convey is that all the questions that the people in the ad were asking are things that they'd type into Google to find out. They're basically trying to show that with the G1 you have Google searches wherever you are.

Perhaps, but I also had that with my Sidekick, Blackberry Pearl, or whatever other internet enabled phone I've ever used before.  In my opinion: FAIL!

I've noticed the questions that people are asking can also be related to apps on the marketplace or on the phone, along with google search.

"What's my carbon footprint"          ---> Ecorio Travel Green App
"Can I get this cheaper elsewhere"  ---> Numerous Barcode Apps
"Which way to the convention"       ---> Google Maps & GPS

Only problem is they don't tell you these apps exist in that commercial, you have to already be familair with the phone to know this.

When I first saw the commercial - I would have sworn that it was going to be a ChaCha commercial.....

I just don't think it does a very good job at conveying the coolness of the phone.

thats what i was trying to get at with my post like waaay in the beginning of this thread! theres just no "pizzaz" to this commercial and i think they could have worded everything differently...the other one with the "funnerer" and other words was much better than this in my opinion
...i just wish they didn't have to kill so many lemons to make lemonade...

Wow... I'll echo the sentiments as someone that does advertising... that sucked.
