I have the same problem.  I have to go 2 block east or two blocks west to get 3/4G service.  If I take my phone to the attic I can get 2 or 3 bars of service but nothing in the main part of the house or outside in the yard.  Zip is 22305 in Alexandria VA.

Ouch. There is barely any 3G coverage in the area @ rwt4jc. I'm not so sure if that area is of any importance to T-Mobile at this moment. However, I do have news for you much of the 2G in the area will be at least converted to 3G but in the meantime plz wait it out if you can I know it may take awhile but u'll also need a 3G 1900 capable phone to take advantage of the future network the 2G signal you receive today will be most likely the 3G signal you receive in the future. Whats your WCDMA signal inside the home and when you walk outside. Just goto dialer and hit *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone Info and find the -??? dBm and Asu.

@Rfutscher I have no idea whats going on in your area. The coverage maps can be misleading at times. But it may be time to replace that Sony Ericsson TM506.

I do know 3G/4G comes out of the WCDMA radio so its either or your going to get 3G or 4G. The 3G/4G signal could just be very weak inside the home. I would like you to go outside see how bars you have of 3G and then inside and report back here. Another problem could be whats used to make the home you live in. 1700/2100 does not broadcast as good. For one the network isn't as much built out as 2G is and second the higher frequency is hurting it.
