Hi - today is Wednesday, August 17, 2011, and for the past three days, t-mobile has been down here in Avalon, California, zip 90704.  Even more disconcerting is the fact that last evening as my wife used her ATT iPhone (her business line) to call T-Mobile customer support, they knew nothing about the outage that started on Monday, August 15.  The t-Mobile coverage is usually quite good in Avalon, but I am concerned about the length of this outage and the fact that customer service did not know about it.

It's never been a good idea to use customers as the source of network trouble reporting, but in the end it's the user who is on the frontline of any kind of trouble. Like all network operators TMO has tools to monitor their network. CSRs don't have the same visibility to network issues that engineering does. Request that a trouble ticket be opened for your trouble just in case. That way if the engineers have missed something, the issue will get looked at.

I think that needs to change. Because the customers should know when something is going on over half the time. But also the engineers need to pay more attention. But as you know there is way too many areas to watch.

Rumors! I love rumors! I would prefer they were truths though.
