Is there a root for the G2X with GB 2.3.3 right now ? all i want to do is be able to use SPB Shell 3D on it with out it doing the licensing thing.

Hey man, yes there is a way to root it and there is a way to root it and haave the stock GB ROM and the new baseband Check out this fourm: http://forum.xda-developers.com/index.php           
Just go to tmobile g2x and look at the Q&A there is all  the info you will need.

There's no easy way.  There are ways on XDA, but one wrong step, and you'll have a non-working paperweight, and you'll have voided the warranty.

Well it can be very easy. And I suggest that you keep the Stock ROM on hand. You can usually get out of a brick dependant on manufacturer of an Android device.

Rooting my G2x was extremely easy, just followed these steps. I'm now running a customized build of Gingerbread, with the old Lg cam ported, with 1080p video recording at 24fps, and 720p at 30 fps.
