I got myself a Samsung Vibrant with T-Mobile a few months back and the device had problems off and on with 3G network connections. I got myself a replacement ( a refurb) device and after a few months other problems - including connecting to Wi-Fi and Web etc. Spoke to Tech Support and then to a supervisor for a replacement. They are unwilling to send one - even within warranty period. The tech support supervisor wants me to take the battery off the phone and restart every 2/3 days as remedy. Just imagine - what solution is being offered. I have requested an email that this is the procedure that I should follow.

As I look back - Samsung got away from making Vibrants after afew months and T-Mobile is selleing all these refurb "crappy" devices on their websites. I will just kiss good-bye to the 4 month old Vibrant and use my old AT&T unlocked LG and then break my contact.
So much for T-Mobile for 'Best Customer' service + largest 4G network' when you can not get data service in major metro area. Samsung widgets lock up often on these devices and getting corporate mails - is a pipe dream. These Samsung Vibrants are plain and simple junk.

The tech reps atr T-Mobile I spoke to - seemed really 'at a loss' with technical details. Some said my SIM card was outdated, some were looking for settings that were no there. Gosh - my encounters with them have just been plain nerve wrecking. Felt like just banging the phone on the floor.

Call back and try again, a lot of the times it's the rep you get that makes things happen.  you are right they don't make the Vibrant anymore and all that is left are refurbs for replacements, but I have had two refurbs, one Blackberry and the other my Vibrant, and IMO they were as good as new when i got them.  Call and try again and make sure you are real nice and explain the problems you are having, maybe you will get lucky and get a better rep.

Diff reps say diff things. Sucks you have to keep calling until you get what you want. I feel like that happens a lot to ppl.

Yup your right. I had to do that with a G2 I had. I was told that they didn't carry the phone, confused it with the G1, MyTouch 3G, said the 1yr warranty expired, sorry can't find the IMEI #.

I agree about the reps, I have had some fantastic ones, and ones who their best answer is to pull the battery out and wait, then start the phone back up.  Most people with common sense try this many times before calling.  Wish they sent out a feedback form each time you called CS so that you could rate your experience.

You may not want to hear this, but TechRepublic's editor-in-chief, Jason Hiner, decided that of the 10 best smartphones of 2010, the Samsung Vibrant ranked #4, up there with the Droids.

I have had NO ISSUES WHATSOVER with my Samsung Vibrant.  It executes operations quickly, launches calls and Visual Voicemail easily, and is slim in the hand.  PLUS, the SuperAMOLED screen is truly the most remarkable (sharpest, most colorful, best contrast) cell phone screen out there, short of Apple's iPhone Retina Display.

Also, the LV Valley and Southern Cali 3G networks are stable and fast.
