Hey there, this is going to be similar to the G2X vs Sensation thread, but with slightly different considerations involved.

Basically I'm currently on a rooted MyTouch3g with 3.5mm headphone jack running CM6 and LauncherPro. It's working all right, but I want something new. it stutters when using pretty much any app I want and has weird little bugs with typing inputs sometimes.

My main thing is that if I'm going to be spending hundreds of dollars on a phone, I want one that will last me as long as possible. Specifically I want the speed and capabilities to not feel outdated for new apps for as long as possible. So that means a good, fast phone. I don't feel a need to root and mod a phone as soon as I get it, though I will probably do so later in its lifespan.

So my favorite candidates right now are the LG G2X and the HTC Sensation 4G. I'm leaning towards the Sensation because it claims to have the faster specs (more RAM, 1.2Ghz processor, dual core). But from what I'm reading and seeing online, the G2X is actually the faster phone. At first I thought this was because of the Sense overlay slooing the HTC Sensation down, but from what people are saying there might be more to it than that.

Specifcally, the word is that even if the Sensation's processor measures a higher clock speed, the Tegra in the G2X is just better. It gets better scores on Quadrant and other benchmarking apps. I saw something about an A9 vs an A7 chip-- not sure what that means to be honest. But if I want the latest, fastest more future proof phone, which should I get?

Also, to head this off, I'm not interested in slide-out keyboards, so even if it has a great camera, I'm not that keen on MT4G Slide. I *could* be talked into waiting for Samsung's offerings, but I'd rather get something now. There will always be something bigger and nicer on the horizon no matter how long I wait.

Thank you very much!

Samsung Hercules LOL. But i'd get the Sensation to be honest. But i've heard G2x doesn't have low sound.

Sensation or wait a month or two and see what is coming next, either Samsung Hercules or SGS2.  Personally I wouldn't get a G2X, T-mobile has stopped selling it and it appears to have a ton of problems, and no real answers from either T-Mo or LG on what is up with it.

Since your rooting the device and installing a custom ROM then it should be ok to get the device. Make sure thats the first thing you do.
