 >:(  I Bought the vibrant back in september and since then i have had around 7 or 8 exchanges, with another one on the way. -_- None of the phones had working turn by turn navigation and apps are constantly having to "force close". Every phone over heats. Entirely too hot for my face. I sent the phone to Samsung to be repaired and they sent it back telling me to contact T-Mobile. I contacted  T-Mobile and as compensation for all the troubles and multiple exchanges they could "downgrade me to an LG Optimus" because the phone "has a history of being trouble free" (<-- literally what i was told over the phone). So i went to the T-Mobile store and the sales associate agreed that the whole idea of being downgraded was crazy and she explained that the policy says i should get a phone of equal or greater value. She called t-mobile as well and the woman explained that the LG Optimus is comparable to my phone because it is 3G... -_- completely disregarding the fact that it has a significantly smaller screen, a dramatically smaller amount of memory, hardly any synchronization options, and no supported email platform! They offered it to me because it "has a history of being trouble free". I did have another option: pay for an upgrade to include an upgrade fee. I haven't even had this phone a year and i have to pay to get a phone that is at least comparable to the one i already paid $400 for? *sigh* Anybody else had to deal with this?

I have encountered this policy with TMO.  I did not do as many exchanges as you did though.  Here my post and as you can see, I did the upgrade.

I must also add, that my calls to customer service lately have not been the same type of positive experience that I have had in the past.

Good luck

yeah great luck with that frustrating when your phone is not working up to par, but multiple exchange is a courtesy not a requirement, and not something most companies offer, as well you known samsung made your phone and not tmo, do what you gotta do call samsung if you have to, but i wouldn't take to much time trying to get around that policy! a computer probably picks the phone not the person!

No where does the policy state "equal or greater value".  You should get a phone that is comparable to what your have.  Now in your situation, I would be upset too seeing how the Optimus is not on the same level as the vibrant.  The closet device at the time of your posting would've been a mytouch 4g since that was the replacement option for the galaxy s.
