I seem to have searched all over, and can't find the answer to this. What is the data cap for the Preferred Android Data plan?

I could cut my bill another $10/mo switching to the new 1000 minute talk/text/web data plan for $119, but i've gotten as high as 1.5gb of usage before and don't want to end up getting throttled over $10.

TIA

The soft cap is 5GB.  Preferred Android itself doesn't have a throttle.  So the default throttle in the terms and conditions apply:

See point 10:

http://www.t-mobile.com/Templates/Popup.aspx?PAsset=Ftr_Ftr_TermsAndConditions&print=true

So if you think you may need more than 2GB, you should keep what you have.

Preferred Android Data is one of the best feature anyone offers today. You do not want to switch off that feature. You should test to see if it does throttle after 5GB.

Excellent, thanks for that info. If it was $20+ I'd probably think it over a bit more, as I typically only tether on the iPad when at my son's martial arts class. So it's only once or twice a week for less than an hour. But for a mere $10 difference, I'd rather just stick with what I've got.

Does anyone know if we can keep the Preferred Android Data if we switch to the new plans?  I was thinking of switching to the Unlimited Family Talk+Text and keeping my current Preferred Android Data, if it were possible.

They will try to tell you that its not compatible with those plans keep calling in till you get someone who doesn't tell you that.

You would probably need to talk to customer loyalty because I believe the new plans will automatically remove the preferred feature. Only CLT can add it back on.

I was told I could keep it, changed to the new plan, LOST it, called back, and got it back.

I have three lines, so I went from $89 Unlimited Loyalty (for two lines), + $39 for additional line, + $10 family texting, + $60 for data ($20 each line for "Preferred" Android X 3) = $198 - 15% corp discount on features ONLY (didn't work on "Unlimited Loyalty") = $181.65 or $60.55 per line...

* to *

$99 for two lines (including texting) + $30 for additional line + $60 for data ($20 each line for "Preferred" Android X 3) = $189 - 15% corp discount on entire plan = $160.65 or $53.55 per line, less than even Cricket, Boost, or MetroPCS!

HAPPY CAMPER!
