So I have a Nexus One rooted with CM7 that I recently face planted on concrete leaving a lovely scratched and spiderwebbed screen.

I've been out of contract on T-Mobile for roughly three years now, and i'm trying to decide what would be the best option for upgrading.

I personally prefer slightly smaller screens in the 3.5-4" range over the 4.3" of the new HTC phones, and I prefer vanilla 2.3 over Sense UI (I'll likely root and put CM7 on either phone once it's supported).

For the HTC I like the brand (my last two phones have been a G1 and N1), slightly faster processor, and the 1gb of RAM instead of 512MB.

My third option is just going out and spending $40 on a digitizer for my Nexus One with the hopes of fixing it myself and trying waiting for better options in the fall.

Does anyone have any information on the pros and cons of either phone, or future considerations? If you had to choose, which phone would you go with?

Thanks in advance.

If you want CyanogenMod, get a G2x. A lot of the CM guys own one including Cyanogen himself. Also, HTC has been locking down their devices as of late. The Thunderbolt only got cracked because there was access to an engineering bootloader and it looks bleak for the Incredible S/Desire S.

Yeah I went ahead and bought a G2x last night. After seeing the potential lack of dev support the Sensation might receive I went with the LG. So far it's a much nicer phone, save for the lack of a notification light.

I do recommend if you know anything about rooting, which it sounds like you do, i would install eagleblood. Its a stock rom, with a  little theming but not much, that is a lot fast, and more bug free than the stock lg rom. although it is based off the stock lg rom, it has a lot of software mods to make it faster and more stable. but if you dont its no big deal, the phone is still an amazing phone.

There is a Notification Light for G2X that works great, I downloaded mines off the xda site.
