Hey everyone,
So I found this deal on FIOS for students and I wanna get your opinion before I go ahead and subscribe. You get a $25 rebate on top of their regular offer (http://studentrate.com/StudentRate/bentley/get-bentley-student-deals/Verizon-FIOS-Student-Discounts--/0l) : Verizon FIOS Triple Play for $84.99/month for one year - no contract and no activation fees. I have always had Comcast so i don't know if it's as good/better? Any idea?

Thanks, I was actually wondering how the DVR worked on FIOS. With Comcast if you record something in one room you can't watch it in another room, you need 2 boxes. is it the same with Fios??

So do you know how this deal works? Do you get like an MIR or is it instant?

By how I got my rebate from verizon is that they mail you a visa card, but you don't have to fill out any paper work just sign up for the right plan and they will send you an email of where they should send the card and verify you are still with them.

So I guess its a mail out rebate. :) But it def. is not instant.

It's definitely not MIR, they track your sign up automatically and then credit your Studentrate account with the money. then i think you claim your rebate. I know their cash back system is pretty new

I think that you used to have to send them the confirmation but now the cash back system is automatic. My rebate was recently reflected in my cash back account. pretty sweet to know right away if the transaction was processed and not have to mail anything

What if you're not a student, can you still use this deal?

You can registered on their site by clicking the box that says your a family member and then enter the email address "of the student" as this email..customer@studentrate.edu. and they will activate your account.

If you get this deal w/ the $25 rebate, do you know if you cancel your FIOS subscription do you get charged? and lose the $25?
