I hope to god not. Those are the same prices as the Xoom and the Xoom is over priced. I am hoping they look at the Ipad and price it around 600 with no contract and maybe 400 to 500 with a contract. If T-Mobile/LG is smart they will price it under the Xoom so hopefully it will sell better. I don't really think they will sell alot if it is priced that high. If the Ipad 2 comes out soon they will have to do better then that on pricing. I also don't think i will be able to get my wife to let me get one if it is that high. So hopefully it is lower.

Not surprising.  It's very early in the tablet market and the vendors, as usual, will take advantage of early adopters!

I wouldn't take too much stock in it.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if T-Mobile put the G-Slate at $799 because of the 3D gimmicks. $750 would be more reasonable but carriers always like to overvalue their own stuff.
Read the forum rules and search!

Hmmmm.  Following link specifically lists 3D display specifically as an additional feature.  You don't need a "special" 3D display to do anaglyph.  Since LG is releasing passive glasses 3D TVs soon, wonder if the slate will actually a passive glasses display and the anaglyph shots in the leaks is just a ruse?

Guess the link would help!  :-)

Yes and no, I know T-Mobile doesn't give pricing to its Retail stores until a week or less out. Sometimes its even the day before.

Getting close to the 23rd.  Shouldn't we be seeing more info?

I just called my local T-Mobile retail store.  I thought, if the March 23rd release date was accurate, it might have a demo unit on display.  I don't have a clue whether or not the associate to whom I talked knew for sure; but, she told me they wouldn't have a demo unit until April 20th.  I assume the demo units will be dispatched ahead of the release (like they were for the myTouch 4g).  If her information was accurate and my assumption is correct, we might be looking at a late April or early May release date.

Anyone hearing anything different?

She has no clue. I am a RSA and yesterday at work we knew nothing on info for when the demo unit was going to be there. Most of the time we get a demo units the day before it goes on sale. We also haven't got any info yet on the day its coming out. So unless something was put out today since I am not at work she has no clue. Last I saw the 23rd on this site is the only info on the date it will be out. The CEO was also just here in MN last week and didn't say anything on when the 2X or the G-Slate would be coming out.

Thanks for your reply.  I know we won't know for sure when the G-Slate will be released until an official announcement is made; but, your reply lets me continue to hope for a March date :) .

hmm If you haven't already seen the main page the girl you talked to might be right. It looks like the site got some info that the G-Slate and the 2X will be out on April 20th. Looks like something was put out today for T-Mobile. I will have to go in tomorrow and see.

So, just announced  T-Mobile G-Slate will cost $529.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate card with a qualifying mobile broadband plan on two-year agreement.
Does this mean it will run over $800 with no contract?  Argh!

^^ It'll be cheaper as wifi only.. the new Samsung Tab (WiFi) is a very nice option also.

"Samsung came clean with the pricing at its press conference this morning. The WiFi 10.1 will hit on June 8th -- the 16GB version will cost you $499 and the 32GB $599. The 8.9 is $469 and $569 for 16GB and 32GB, respectively."

Wifi 8.9" = $469 (8GB) & $569 (16GB)
Wifi 10.1" =  $499 (8GB) & $599 (16GB)

So, why are the G-Slate and other tablets SOOOOOOOOO expensive and then you have something like this:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Acer+-+Iconia+Tablet+/+10.1%22+Display+/+16GB+Storage+Memory+/+NVIDIA+Tegra+Processor+-+Aluminum+Metallic/2512059.p?id=1218332577304&skuId=2512059

Is there that BIG a difference in build quality etc?
