Just want to start out by saying that I'm not trying to target any company or any OS in general. What I have observed since the whole Android fever started, all sorts of phones are just every where. You hear about new phones all the time, with newer specs and better chip, more memory and this and that. Every time I get on tmonews I see rumor of new Dell phone or some new HTC coming out with all these rumors of phones and assumed specification, people just can't get enough of these new specs that these company are putting together. Sadly most of the phones are really crappy.

Most of them are more or less the same as the last one, yea with the bigger screen or better chip or memory. But, I don't know about the rest of you, but this really gets annoyed after a while. How about some real improvements? How about some kick ass battery life? Try to improve it so people won't have to charge for days, and not just fall back on the fact that "oh of course, smart phone eats up lots of juice". I can tell you that if you can give me a smart phone with the specs of last year and say you won't have to charge it for a week I will buy it in a heart beat.

Other then the phone, how about real improvement in the network? T-mobile is decent, but when I'm out in the country I have no signals, and those country drives are the most critical times to have some signal in case of a break down or some emergency. If I'm in the city I can just ask the next guy for their phone. I know that T-mobile has a decent network (I'm a Tmo user as well), but I also can't help to admit that out in the country it's usual dead or extremely spotty at best.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it would be nice to see companies do some real improvement longer battery life, better build quality, faster/longer term support on a particular model of phone. Also, some network improvement as well. Just what I have observed over the last couple years, when this whole smart phone thing starts to get heated....

I wouldn't expect those improvements anytime soon.  T-Mobile is spending their money to upgrade the areas that already have 3G coverage to HSPA+.  They get more return on investment doing that then making sure their signal covers some country road.

If you drive a lot in the country and are concerned about breakdowns, just get a Verizon prepaid phone as a backup.

Buy a new phone today and it will be outdated within a month maybe two at tops.  With the improvements coming out so fast and Google not helping with bringing out a new OS every 4 or 5 months, 3 releases in 2010, the Android your holding will be second best before you know it.  Google really needs to get on the Apple plan with one update per year at the same time of year.  It's pretty bad that I can go and buy a device that is on 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 and if i look I can still even find 1.5 or 1.6, not sure what is on the Cliq XT, this is my major complaint about Android.  Slow down the OS updates and maybe your phone will last more than 6 months.
