I am looking to get a new battery, some reason the battery I have now doesn't keep a charge long.  I have everything turned off bluetooth, gps, wifi, brightness anything that would be a major drain for the battery is off.  Yet my battery drains quickly, I don't talk on it much use it more for texting, and surfing.  I been doing some research on li-polymer batteries and I see where that they hold a charge longer, and doesn't have the memory issue that the ion battery has.  I don't have any experience with that battery though, I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with it.  And if it is worth the money to buy one, or am I throwing money away?

I have heard polymer was better.

i heard/read not by much.. so basically the same/not much difference.. can't wait for battery tech to revolutionize one day.. still waiting for a cell phone battery to hold a charge for a day with constant use (compared to ~ 6-8hrs.).

Well I did hear at one time they were about the same but that polymer went past ion. It has more cycles & better life & can give you more juice now.

for some reason, li-ion is still widely used compared to li-po in consumer devices.. wonder why.

Coming from the R/C hobby side that uses LiPo's for most electric motors.  I know you have to be careful charging the LiPo's as they will catch fire when you charge them with too much juice.  I don't know if Li-Ion's are safer then LiPo's or not, but LiPo can be very dangerous.
