What? Are you saying Microsoft does not have as much as a chance as Android?

Because ppl are going to be hesitant to try it because of the old Windows Mobile in the first place plus it is just beginning. Time will tell & since ive played with it, it simply does not interest me much than Windows Mobile did.

But you dont speak for everyone and just because you dont like it doesnt mean no one else will. WP7 is nothing like WM, unless someone is completely closed minded they will see that on the first try of the OS. android has been around for just 2 years, what exactly is preventing WP7 from seeing the same growth and why again is someone proposing that android has cornered the market on smartphone growth?

It will have an audience of some sort. I'm just saying its not going to become #1. Microsoft has never been good in this category. Because Android is fun, I actually had a prediction that Android would top Apple one day. However, I was hesitant because how powerful Apple was. But Windows Phone is missing even basic things at this moment. But I bet in a years time they wont be able to pick up more than 10%. It may end up like the Kin.

Ya except the Kin never sold its initial shipment of 30k phones.  WP7 has sold close to 100k in Germany alone.  The HD7 is backordered online and sold out in most stores.  There is a huge difference.  And the fact that the Kin was a wannabe smartphone that required a smartphone plan when the original deal with Verizon was to market it to tweens and teens and price accordingly.

It also requires a data plan still. When Windows Mobile was around it sold alot internationally but not as much in the US. Yea the HD7 Backorder thing, they probably didnt have enough because every T-Mobile quarter report shows different on the amount of customers added.

Alot of ppl are going to go to Windows Phone 7 right now, its a try thing. Everyone is so curious, but how many will actually keep them?

I just happened to look at NRGZ28's twitter status, this is what he said:
Looks like Tmobile is back to its old tacticts of short supplying the HD7 to make it seem popular and "sold out already!".. Sigh...

Sorry guys but windows phone 7 is just a bunch of blocks and 10 minute long animations. i have looked at videos of it and its probably the most confusing thing i have every seen. Its just no where near as nice looking or as fluent as android.

Android grew 1309% in a year. No mobile OS, computer OS, netbook OS, console OS, nothing has ever grown that much in a year. It is the fastest growing OS ever. So to compare something that just came out and say it might grow just as fast is a very bold statement. And even if it does i will still be on Android ;D

Actually my opinion comes from not the OS itself but its functionality. The design of using tiles, to the only about 2,000 apps available, to not being able to have its own MicroSD & others like wallpaper on home screen will throw some ppl off.

Now im not a hater of Windows Phone 7, I will be one of those who probably purchases both HD7 & Venue Pro because I like all OS's around like the iPhone even. I want Symbian, MeeGo, Maemo, Blackberry, Windows Mobile/Phone, Android & iOS. Hell even give me OPhone=China Mobile/Android Type. I played with it last nite. Remember, I used to be teased here cuz I was supposedly a Microsoft fanboy. However, at that time Windows Mobile only supported what I wanted. But now almost all of them do.

Also may I add that business e-mail functionality is not all there like Windows Mobile had so many businesses may not transition over depending on their needs.

I used the device and didn't see anything confusing about it.  It seems basic enough.  Why not examine an actual WP7 device instead of watching videos?

Jet has a point. However for me I used an emulator w/ the ROM to run & checked it out that way.

Yes he does have a point but when ever we talk we destroy a thread. as you probably have seen in the past. The ignore feature does not work BTW.

I went to check out the MyTouch 4G and the G2 at a local store and all they had was dumb phones. I looked at the MyTouch 4G, G2, and the HD7. So i tried to look at it but couldn't.

I like Android. It will be extremely hard for anyone to get me off of it. And (IMO) Microsoft has never made anything good. No matter what it is it usually sucks. Windows 7 was the only thing even close to nice but really XP is more efficient. I use Ubuntu 10.10. If i where to get the HD7 (hypothetically) I'm sure the phone will self destruct if i plugged it up to a Linux machine.

I guess you like so many others just cant see beyond android and for some reason think this is the absolute final version of WP7 and no featues will be added or improvements made and no more than 2000 applications will ever be released. Hating it is one thing but to assume it wont improve is a bit hard to understand.

But hey, it will fail and everyone on the planet will move to android, all according to plan.
