G2 speedtest

T1, did you do anything special to get those kinda speeds?

I am seriously thinking if things don't change soon I will go back to my G1 and put this G2 on EBAY.

Checking out the speeds is all.

But I am in an HSPA+ area too.

Just put the new SIM card in my G2 and it made no difference.

I would show you a picture but I can't seem to post my speedtest pics.

The best I have got tonight is .83M down and .16M up.

lol. all im saying is that everyone knew you couldn't stay in microsofts box forever!

im getting roughly 3.2 mb dl, and o.5 mb upload.  which i know is 3g speeds.  So i called tech support about it.  the guy said " they are not turning on the swtich for hspa+ speeds til the 20th of this month.  So you wont see it at all in your city right now.  I said but the map says milwaukee has hspa+ live right now.  He said well it's not turned on yet because the g2 isnt released yet.  wtf lol

I really do enjoy Android I think its so cool & better than WinMo now. Sadly, WinMo was stuck on stupid. WP7 seems to bore me ive tried it & dont like it too much.

What i think is funny is that i just got 5.10 on my download on my HD2. i think that is hilarious. to bad at the end where the test says you final result it dropped to 4.93. its still blazing fast.

Ok, gotcha.  Well perhaps the final version won't be as boring as the emulator.  Regardless, I think Microsoft has really dropped the ball in getting these devices to market. 

Well, on Saturday, when I saw the G2 in the store in NYC, I popped out my Nexus One and did a speed test. My Nexus One was getting higher download speeds, while the G2 was only getting half of what I was getting. Last time, I saw ~600kbps down, in midtown, was on Sprint's EvDO.

It was the final build 7003 RTW.

Has anyone tested in a non-HSPA+ area like one w/ HSPA only to see if theres a difference between 2 devices.

im going to cancel my crappy twc, get this bad boy and tether from it seeing as its twice as fast the 20mb pipe im on with time warner.

Except that mobilespeedtest.net is about as accurate as an 18th century musket.

And remember, when you hit 10GB for the cycle T-mo throttles your connection to ~50kbps

A guy that was demoing the G2 before me, stated that the G2 has the wrong firmware build. I wonder how he knew that. He also stated that the Nexus One has three versions. He had the "Unlocked Gold Model". I told him there is only two models. The T-mobile version and the AT&T version. he said he has the "gold model". I don't know if he was crazy or not. Maybe he worked for Google, or something.

it sure seemed to be on this past Friday. 6Mb/1Mb is what the store demo showed at the one in the mall in Brookfield.
