OK so T-mobile are coming out with the Blackberry Curve 9300 and the Motorola Charm later this month. I'm getting a new phone in september so i wanted to get one of those. I like that the Motorola Charm comes with Motoblur for social networking and has that good looking keyboard for texting, aswell as a touchscreen. I've always wanted to try a Blackberry. I've heard they are good for texting and social networking too. With blackberry os 6 coming to the phone the curve will be even better for texting and social networking. The only drawback is no touchscreen but i can live with that. I would like customization on my phone and my phone to be fun. Which should i choose?

Edit: Idk there is something about the curve i like better. If the curve doesn't come out before september 9 i guess 2 other choices would be the bold or mytouch 3g slide.

Edit: I have added a poll. Please vote!

Out of those two I would have to take the Blackberry.  I have had Blackberries and loved them, they are well built and with the 9300 getting OS 6 it will be a good phone.  My gripe with Moto and there low end phones is updates, there are none.  The Cliq and Cliq XT and the Devour on Verizon are still on either Android 1.6 or 1.5 and there seems to be no update to 2.1 coming.  Also had you thought about the MyTouch Slide?  I have and love it you may want to check that out also.

Are you buying on-contract or off? If you're buying on-contract with a subsidy, just save up a little more money for the 9700. The 9700 has an amazing keyboard, better than the Curve keyboards. The screen is also a lot better and you can actually use the camera. Plus it seems pretty well built. It's worth the money.

If you can only look at the 9300 and Charm, the 9300 is probably better for messaging. The Charm is going to be limited because of its low-resolution display. Also, I wouldn't expect much battery life out of the Charm with Blur.

Oh and just a side question, are blackberries fun to use? I kinda want my phone to be fun and not a boring piece of plastic. I know android is fun to use but what about blackberries?

Compared to Android Blackberry is not very much fun.  There are a ton more apps for Android than Blackberry and the games are so much better.  I don't know how much better OS6 is gonna make Blackberry, it could make it great but I just don't know cause I have not seen it.  If your looking for fun go Android, but check out all the phones and see what you like.

Is Charm only QVGA? If so, wont that limit the number of apps and games for it?

The BB is a fun device IF you know a bunch of ppl who have BB's.  I say that because there's no messaging app like BB messenger....at all.  There truly is no comparison. But if you don't need it for business, then I say go with an Android device.  The keyboard on the charm(from the demo I used once) is pretty tough to type on.  The keys are raised but are VERY close together.  The Charm also looks like a toy when you see it in person which I'm not a big fan of my phone looking like something my niece would chew on.  I don't know about the 9300, BUT...I'd also just go with the 9700...yea the processor is a lil slower BUT you're getting a higer res screen and camera, it will probably be upgraded to 6.0 as well, and it's a REALLY solid device.

Yeah, well the phone is going to be for personal use, but after what you said bought the Charm I'm not so sure about it anymore. I don't really need to 9700 since I'm not going to use the phone for any buisness.

Even if you're not going to use your phone for business, get the 9700. It'll be built a lot better most likely if the 9300 is going to be like the 85xx in build quality. The 9700 will still be better than the 9300.

Anyways, even if T-Mobile might not give the official OS 6 update, you can always get it. T-Mobile never gave out 5.0 officially for my 8900 and I had 5.0 on my device.

Well OS 6 is suppose to make the web browser better so that isn't really a problem.
