Pretty sure it was a screwed up Superuser.apk on that ROM. I say that as I couldn't ROM Manager to do a thing when I was on that CM port. I also couldn't get Wi-Fi Tether to work.

Getting good battery life with SetCPU and MR1v4. I was getting amazing battery life earlier in the day with the stock power saver profile. 4 hours with an hour of screen time near max brightness with 90% left. Turned it off though because the device takes about a minute to warm up and it's slow until SetCPU gets the CPU back to normal. I'm at 69% battery at a little over 8 hours and 2 hours of screen time.

It sounds like the number 1 priority from the CM team is to get the Slide done. We'll be getting an RC hopefully by the end of next week. At worst, we'll have CM6 at the end of the month.

So apparently the August 9th nightly is stable, with everything working except for the FN and CAPS lights. Camera included. I'll flash tonight, will give a trip report.

Know a lot of people who say it's working great.

Oh man guys... major bummer.

I flashed that OTA thinking, eh I can root again. Nowww... it says I can't flash any other ESPRIMG because the master version is older. So now, I'm stuck unrooted. And who knows if someone will figure anything out. May be time to sell a MT3GS. :(:(:(:(

In order to flash the ESPRIMG, you have to have root. Did you do the straight OTA or did you grab the OTA with root off of XDA? If you grabbed the original OTA, time to deal with loop and spoof again then flash the ENG build. After that, flash the radio from the OTA and then onto CM6.

CM6 is working perfectly for me. In hindsight, Eugene's MR1v4 was not very good. I along with others had some issues with sync where it would be syncing all the time. Didn't have this problem for the first week I had it on, but it stayed after that first week. I could get 18-20 hours out of my battery before the sync issues cropped up, then it would be a struggle to get 15. I also had to do apps2ext because the size of /data ballooned. Before I flashed CM6, the size of /data was 60 MB. That was with a 512 MB EXT3 partition. On stock, I sat at 115 and had nearly the same app loadout as I had on MR1v4.

I unrooted and flashed the OTA. Then tried to root again. For the community! Needed to know if it could be done. Now... I'm working on root again. Stay tuned.

There's a new root method. I don't really know anything about it, but it seems easier than the previous method. Works on OTA too from what I recall.

CM6 RC1 is also out. Don't read XDA, they're too obsessed with OMG QUADRANT SCORES from their previous modded ROM with CM as base. I wonder if the USB tethering via settings has been fixed, I don't think it has. Will flash later today.

Well I traded my Slide for an HD2 with Android running on it. I'm gonna try and trade that for a Nexus, but that's beside the point.

Good luck Slide modders. When the new root method is perfected, I will update the OP with links and etc.

They now have a new root method for the Slide now and it is easy, took all of maybe fifteen minutes to root and flash and I am now running CM6 and loving it.  This phone just got so much better.

Yes I'm running Cyanogen 6, really nice ROM, only thing not working is Bluetooth and wireless tether.
Here the link for the root method.

Here's the new root instructions. Then flash the engineering build, and then go to CyanogenMod 6. CyanogenMod 6 is a stock Android 2.2 build. Pretty much every ROM for the Slide is based off of CM6.

Wireless tether doesn't work? the native built in Wireless Tether and/or app? try XDAndroidTether.apk and report back to see if that works.

The Wireless Tether APK just reboots the phone but it's been about a month since I last tried it (first working nightly.)

I found that out today when I tried it, but hey no big deal, I don't really need that right now.  I did switch from the CM6 RC1 to the CM 6 Stable and thought the phone seemed a little quicker and then ran  Quadrant and almost feel over when it read 873, I hadn't had a reading over 450 before and I'm not even overclocked.

not Wireless Tether for Root Users app.. im talkin about XDAndroid Tether (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=389058&d=1282874816).. looks the same exact way, but the code is a lil different.
OR u can search to see if they included the myTouch Slide in the app here: http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/ | http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list

UPDATE: nope, i don't see the myTouch Slide supported yet in the WTfRU app.

I tried XDAndroid tether and that downloaded and installed and did nothing when I ran the app, which is better than the others, they would crash the phone.  But like I said no big deal for now.
