To satisfy my curiosity - how is the 3G connectivity issue at this point? Anyone still having problems with N1 and 3G?

I've also never had a problem.

There is a good reason that Google gave up trying to fix the 'problem'.

:o LOL.  I had the 3G to EDGE issues, and still do, if I keep my phone on "WCDMA-preferred" instead of "WCDMA-only"

I can hear WiMax crying in the background....hehehe...

On that note, read today that a big Russian ISP - Yota - was ditching WiMax for LTE....death knell is thumping hard & harder every day for'em :(

They should downgrade wimax's title to 3g or even rev. c because if tmobiles 3g is running at 21 and its a variant of 4g, then wimax has no right to be called 4g seeing at how it cant beat a branded 3g connection speed.

My G1 would fluctuate.  My N1 definitely does.  So far from my observations, I wouldn't say it is a 3G issue, more of an overall reduction in reception versus other phones I've had.  I drove through an area that I usually drop dangerously low on with my other phones while on EDGE/gprs with my N1 while I was on a call.  I sat and watched the meter drop down to no bars then poof! the x shows up and the call drops.  I do see that the N1 doesn't quite hold a signal as well as past phones I've had but areas where I get no signal are very, very minor.

I don't believe HSPA+, even at 21 Mbps, has ever been referred to as 4G - maybe more of 3G done right?

I take that back, my mistake, from Twitter today...

@TMobile_USA: Our HSPA+ network is growing. Today's available 4G speeds now offered in Memphis, Tenn. and Las Vegas!

Not sure why T-Mobile feels the need to confuse the issue, its definitely a 3G based standard and implementation.  Although as long as they keep building it, they can call it 7G for all I care.

I started having 3G issues with my N1 about 3 weeks after i bought it, and it hasnt gotten any better, then i had to have it replaced cause the USB connector went out and the replacement has been worse, the 3G reception is just weak on the N1 compared to my G1.  And then ive been having a serious problem with it not sending SMS and i try to set it to 2G only to see if it helps but the phone wont switch like its locked up and i have to restart it.  Two weeks after i got the replacement the screen cracked and i didnt do anything to it so i had to send it in and go round and round with them on getting it repaired and getting the other issues fixed and after two weeks of them having the phone i had to pay 69 bucks to replace the screen, andnow i get it back and it worked fine for a day and a half and then started locking up again and not sending sms and a very weak 3G reception.  And i get it back from the repair place and the metal strip just below the battery cover has a dent in it that def wasnt there before.  Im hoping 2.2 will fix some of these issues, if not i will say goodbye to the N1, as much as i love this phone when it works.
