I dont see anywhere to order the g2 at best buy, i dont even hear about it anywhere.

You have to go to a Best Buy store.

Press Release

"Best Buy Mobile Launches Pre-Sale of the T-Mobile® G2™ with Google™
The pre-sale begins Friday, September 10.
Best Buy Mobile today announced the T-Mobile® G2™ with Google™ will be available for pre-orders starting Friday, September 10. It will launch in stores October 6 and will retail for $199.99 with new two-year activation.

By adding the T-Mobile® G2™ with Google™ to its assortment, Best Buy Mobile furthers its position as the place for consumers to research and purchase the smart phone that is right for their needs. Best Buy Mobile has the most under smart phones under one roof, including the iPhone 4, HTC EVO 4G (Black or White version), the full line of Samsung Galaxy smart phones and the BlackBerry Torch, among others.

The G2 is T-Mobile's first phone on its advanced network that lets consumers connect at 4G speeds. It has the Android 2.2 operating system, an exclusive hinge design (HTC calls it "Z-Hinge") that opens up to a QWERTY keyboard and a full touch screen 3.7" S-TFT WVGA with clear images and wide viewing angle.

Pre-orders can be made by visiting any local Best Buy or Best Buy mobile standalone store.

At Best Buy Mobile, consumers can compare the latest devices from popular carriers and plans in store or online. For more information on the T-Mobile® G2™ with Google™, and other smart phones available at Best Buy, visit www.bestbuy.com/mobile."

I stopped at 2 and a BB mobile, no sign of it anywhere.

I wouldn't mind ordering it from BB or Costco but I'm afraid that I'll have to call up the retention dept. to get the full 2 year discount since I just bought the MTS the day it came out. Oh well... I'll have to prepare to act and spend an hour complaining. I know! I'll just get some tips from the blog commentors! They are masters of crying, b*tching, and complaining...

I wonder if T-Mobile will charge for the Froyo Mobile Hotspot like Verizon is doing. I hope not.

I am surprised that no Android phone has UMA. Nokia's E73 Mode, and RIM seems to be the only one's able to promote this feature.

Another thing I was wondering, is if the memory card slot is on the side of the phone, or if its under the battery. Being under the battery is a major annoyance on my N1.

I am somewhat nervous about that "unique hinge", since its so new. If I decide to get this phone, I will buy it for retail price, to see how I like it compared to my Nexus One. Also, I want to see if I am able to retain my old Blackberry $19.99 data plan. They might try to have me to get an Android data plan for $34.99.

You'll have to go to the $24.99 Android data plan. I had to give up my BlackBerry data for the Slide.

Little nervous to give up my grandfathered data plan.

I gave mine up and never looked back. I think all and all I pay about $7.00 a month more than I did but I am okay with that because Android uses so much more data than that worthless WM6.1  EDGE only HTC Tilt I had before the G1.

Doesn't the new data plans have that 5 ~ 10GB cap limit restriction, where as anyone who had an old grandfathered data plans doesn't?

Now that we have confirmation that the MTHD has a front facing camera, I think its a little short sighted to not put one on the G2.

A Front camera isn't needed really and until the tech/gimmick really takes off and there is more support its just a luxury and nothing more, perhaps the word want is better phrased, No?.... I'm sure you guys miss me but its been really busy at best buy  mobile :-)

10GB mark.. then it'll throttle down.. im still using my grandfathered $5.99 t-zones and tmo never hits me with "10GB limit reached" then throttled me.. the most in a month i used was around 32GB.
