I'm happy with my HD2 so I'm not too interested in this. But it would be nice if tmo for once, just once had a kick ass phone. Even if it's forgotten in a month when another carrier gets a better phone.

I can barely wrap my mind around it. I miss my Sidekick sometimes. Time to bring it back?
I support anyone who brings about competition and innovation. Be it Google, Apple, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Palm, Microsoft, RIM, LG, Sharp, or anyone else I may have forgot. Variety is great. What's good for one person, is dead wrong for another.

Nah Samsung is just bad quality period in alot of their phones. I prefer Nokia & LG. Also add HSPA+ to it too & im saying that im very sure if this phone is true that it will have HSPA+ & the phone they are speaking of that will be coming mid year.

T-Mobile would be smart to not use the Sidekick name for this device, seeing as that brand name is damaged goods and doesn't go well with a high-end device. Maybe something like a G1 successor? The device will probably be pretty sweet since it's HTC but that name is damaged goods.

My contract for the G1 is up in November too! I am eager to see what the device(s) will be.

I still love my G1. Especially with the roms Cyanogen puts out. Still, a faster processor and more ram will be sweet. I can almost deal without a physical keyboard. We'll see.

G2

Can't use G2, Gatorade has a trademark on it, also I believe the Mytouch was supposed to be called the G2, as it is in Europe, but was changed here to do that.

With rumors going around that this will be the new "Sidekick" I would wager that this will have a keyboard.

It would be a good lineup then actually. Windows mobile was built on touchscreen so they have the HD2. They would have the Nexus One (assuming it makes it's way into stores) and MyTouch 3g for slate style Androids and this new device and MyTouchSlide for keyboard style Androids.

This would leave them with everything except for iPhone as far as the major OSes go since the Dell Lighting is supposed to have the proper 3g bands. It would move T-mobile from being slightly behind in the phone department to equal footing.  This is all assuming that this new device is truly a flagship device.

Microsoft/Danger makes the devices in which have Sharp batteries. The sidekick & this phone have no relation as its made by HTC.

I don't care who makes it, but I would prefer HTC, it sounds like it will be bad ass, and it's about  time we get a device like that.

Except according to the rumors "Project Emerald" will be a phone made by HTC and called a Sidekick. That was what I was referring to. Of course the "new Nexus-One-like" device could be different than project Emerald but I doubt T-mobile would have 3 big device launches nearly simultaneously.

If indeed there are several phones coming, the project emerald phone would be the HSPA+ one.

My point is even if you name something the same as something else doesnt mean it applies to that.
