My 14 days was up yesterday...like anyone else that got it on the release date.
I was real close to returning it.  My issue is with the lock ups/freezes about once or twice a day.
I decided to keep it.  I'm hoping there will be some sort of update for this soon.. And what the hell else would I have gotten?
This is the best T-Mobile phone in the store.

Anyone here return it yesterday or sooner?

Joe

I decided to keep mine. I already ordered a nice screen protector to put on this. And the case I was using for my G1 will fit this, until I can get a better one. Sold my G1 a few weeks ago, so really had no choice. I really like the size of this. But I'm sure in time (soon I hope) there will be some updates. So in the meantime I will enjoy my new HD2 :)
BTW: jdzialak how are you enjoying your HD2?

I haven't decided yet. Right now I'm using my Touch pro2 because it is so hard for me to text on the on screen key board. I haven't used the HD2 a whole day because of the on screen keyboard & it freezes up like 3 times out of a day. I have until Wed to decide. I love the big screen that's why I want to hang in there.

Love life and my city.

You want to fix the freezing problem?
1) Install Hspl2.0.
2) Install Kumars ROM v1.5 (optimizations + removal of all t-mobile garbage weighing down the system).
3 Install CleanRAM and Dutty's Task Manager (set to auto-run every couple hours).

Not only does this help keep the system from getting slowed down by frozen RAM but it makes battery life waaaaaaaay better so no more soft resets 3x a day. The task manager that comes with the phone doesn't actually close programs either, it freezes them in the background, thus not helping the phone clear ram space. Need any help with this let me know. Cheers!

Thanks for the info, I'll try that stuff!

I may need help doing so, though, since this is my first WinMo phone.  I'll see what I can figure out on my own before I bug you.

@Kilroy - I'm really enjoying it!

edit-
I installed Clean Ram.  I did Dutty's, too, but I can't find it on my phone.  It said it was installed successfully...
I tried it both on the device and storage card, but it doesn't show up.

Dutty's Task Manager runs automatically, so you don't have to launch it.  It should be up in the top right corner.  From the Home screen it will look like 3 horizontal lines(2 thick and 1 thin) with an arrow pointing down.  Tap on that and it will show you any tasks that are running along with the amount of memory in use.  If you tap on the wrench icon in that drop-down menu, it will take you to the settings where you can choose what the X button does(minimize or close the program), and also shows you a list of what programs are currently running.

Where do you download Dutty's Task Manager from? I like to try it out. Even though my seems be pretty good. Been on since Wednesday night through today without shout off just using phone and some internet usage and standby, and I'm on 62% battery.

I definitely kept mine.  This phone is fantastic.  Everything about it is spectacular.  The on screen keyboard is quite large for text input, the screen is sharp, clear and very responsive.  The OS is hidden very well under SENSE.  Despite having returned my first HD2 due to all of the issues I was having, my second HD2 is running smoothly minus a few speed bumps here and there.  T Mobile and HTC really need to come up w/an update as this phone is more than capable w/all of the specs included.

It's amazing how only some of us are having issues while others are not.  I.e., my first HD2 would lock up on me while using the messaging system in SENSE, while my second HD2 has yet to do so and I have over 100 text messages with just one of my contacts-no issues.

I enjoy my phone very much!
I wish my battery kept up with my phone

Ive had mine for a little over a week now with no freezing or lock-ups whatsoever. Everything has been smooth, even under heavy tweaking. This device is great, and I am definitely keeping it. The  only downside is that I had to give my wife my nexus one....I guess that gives me room for a new companion for my hd2... ; )
I am a mobile device addict.

The Dutty's is great, thanks!  I didn't see it at first.
That and the Clean Ram are helping me run smooth!

I only had to use Soft Reset once today, and that was when my data connection was down.  That always fixes it.

Glad to hear it. WM gets a lot of grief because it does slow down and is problematic, but if you tweak it a little it runs pretty well and the HD2 is beautiful. That being said, I do miss my android.

Put me in the definite-keep list. Mine had the data issue 2 days after release date. And 1 soft reset because the Comm Manager locking onto wireless connections off. Reset and then WC switched to on, no problems since. I'll be getting the Duttys TM and other mods listed, kinda irritating to always have to manually close apps in task mgr. But I still have 0 regrets on buying HD2.

Where do you find these programs? I can't seem to find them.

I might have to return mine for a new one because my one battery prong is busted already.  I got it fixed enough, but if I take my battery out, it's gonna break completely.
