I don't understand why it is that we at t-mobile have to spend months speculating if and when this phone will come and then boom all of a sudden from one night to the next AT&T comes out and announces that it's getting it, even posting pictures of the new design.

What's the deal with all the secrecy? Why this whole Samsung "Event" Why can't T-mobile just say yes, we're getting it, it's not really a big surprise anymore.

That really grinds my gears.

Pretty simple really: T-Mobile has a lot of crappy phones that can't even compare that they need to be selling in the next couple weeks. If you tell people about the Galaxy S, who the hell is going to go get a HD2 or MyTouch Slide? Even free I wouldn't get either of those now that I know about the Galaxy S.

Plus they just had a few new releases--MyTouch Slide, Nokia, and Garmin.  They don't want customers to wait for the Galaxy S, when there are supposedly "great" phones on the market now.  In fact, I even saw a commercial for the first time last night for Garmin, so they are trying to push that while they still have time.

How about this for a conspiracy theory?
Emerald is about brining iPhone 4 to T-Mo by some non-specific time. Some kind of gimmicky T-Mo iPhone 4 that people could like better than the ATT version.
ATT gets wind of this and moves cover their future losses. Because that announcement has not been made they attempt to hold on to customers ready to jump ship for an android by buy announcing their version of the SGS before June 29th. Perhaps feeling that they have a better SGS offering (6 axis gyro) and folks will hold off on the T-Mo version and wait for theirs. A bit of the “you take my market share. I take yours”. ATT will already have the majority of the early adopter iPhone 4 share and will hold onto some of the folks that will want a new android phone but would rather not change carriers.

For the record I really can’t stand slide-out anything (key pads, etc.) fewer moving parts fewer things to go wrong less clunky/chunky. Also I am on board with the people that think an LED flash is not deal breaker on a phone-camera. So the SGS or HTC Desire would work fine.

Also, you should read how ATT users are already complaining about what ATT will do or not do to their version of the SGS.

This phone should shut you all up who are complain about t-mobile needs a super phone to compete. Give me a break with that stupid notion. Lets be honest people like you would hurt t-mobile more now than anything. The reason I say that with the budget t-mobile get's no where near the other big 4. I mean it's good to have a super phone in the roster maybe 2 but if they aren't marketed the way Verizon does it will be a wrong business move.

SGS is definite for TMobile.  I just called the loyalty department to get the loyal customer $20 data plan.  While I was one the phone, we spoke about my current phone and I said I will be upgrading later.  The CSR asked me what phone I want to get and I said, "The one you aren't advertising yet, the Galaxy S."  CSR said, "Oh, you must be on all of the blogs.  Well so you know, when it comes out you are eligible for the full upgrade."

I remember when the Touch Pro 2 was coming to T-Mobile and everyone was mad because they were changing the way it looked by changing the color of the backplate and removing the chrome ring around the phone. Now everyone is mad because T-Mobile might not be changing the design of the Galaxy S. Leaving the colors black and leaving the chrome ring in place. Can you MF'ers every be happy? Please all of you, go to ATT, Sprint or Verizon so I don't have to read the **** that spews from your mouth, down through your fingers and onto your keyboard.

IF YOUR NOT HAPPY WITH T-MOBILE THEN LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the internet: land of the angry, entitled idiot. I've been following this board and blog since around the time the G1 was rumored. I've seen this cycle of rumor->anticipation->disappointment repeat several times. Before, there was a reason for the disappointment... the phones just weren't that great, or the rumored phones never made it to stores. But now, there is a legitimate powerful Android smartphone on the horizon and people are picking nits. "It has no keyboard!" "It has no flash!" "It's Samsung! FAIL!" "But I need UMA!" etc etc. Sorry, but you can't get everything you want all of the time. This is life on the 4th largest carrier. You want better? Pay more and deal with crappier customer service.

When I first saw this phone, I thought I couldn't live without a flash, and I hated the iPhoney shape and app menu. But the more I've watched and learned, the more I've realized that this is 90% of the phone I want and need, and that's pretty damn good. If you can't be happy with a sleek and beautiful phone-call-making, web browsing, GPS navigating, video game playing, media player, camera/camcorder that fits in your pocket because of one little LED, then it's entirely possible you will never be happy in your entire life. Call your doctor and get some pills.

@Bobomo.....I agree with you 100% man...The more I watch all of the videos on this phone, the more I fall in love with the UI. It's just little stuff that makes it neat. Like swiping to the right on a contact calls them and swiping left on a contact starts a text message. The new TouchWiz is more of a launcher than a intrusive UI layed over Android. Samsung learned from there Android mistakes just like Motorola did. Both company's are creating less intrusive UI's but adding little things that make the interface better. I will be in the store on day one to get this phone. Heck I might even take a vacation from work just so I can make sure I get this phone on day one.

I think it is just especially bad for T-Mobile customers.. it's like they always want to be negative.

Yeah, I really like that too. Also the improvements to both the music and video players look nice. Mostly just impressed at how damn fast it looks. And that screen... even watching it on video you can tell it's special.

And, because it bears repeating, we could still end up with a flash. The original source of the rumor for this phone said Sprint would get a keyboard-version, and AT&T would be the only version without a flash. Well the Sprint version has leaked (with a flash) and the AT&T model has been announced (without a flash). I'm hopeful, but I'm not going to sweat it. Unless they price it completely ridiculous, I will be there day one to get it.

IF YOUR NOT HAPPY WITH T-MOBILE THEN LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My grandfathered T-Mobile plan can not be matched by any of the other carriers so I will NOT be leaving.

So you'll just have to deal with people's complaints about T-Mobile devices until they decide to get their act together and match what the other carriers have.

T-Mobile wasn't even smart enough to carry the phone that many people believe is the best phone that has AWS 1700----the Nexus One.

They're so poorly run that they had to bring over someone from Europe to take over.  They have LOST postpaid subscribers for 2 straight quarters while AT&T and Verizon has gained millions.

If you can't deal with people's complaints about real issues, then maybe you shouldn't subject yourself to the forum.

Personally, I think the phone looks great.  The lack of a camera flash is the only drawback, but not enough for me to pass on this unless an announcement of a better phone comes within the next month.  I've been using a Nuron for the last 2 months, but I can't resist any longer.

And if you tell people about Samsung's smartphone track record, they'll rush for an MTS. The MTS is a solid device that has no doubts. The Galaxy S, well Samsung. Maybe it will get updated to 2.2, but to Gingerbread? I doubt that. The only way this device will be worthwhile is if it gets rooted and it gets developed for.

I would say that was more Google's decision. They wanted to try something new, in that you either get the official Google-supported plan ($79 500 minutes + unlimited texts and data) or you get an unlocked N1.

Well that's a lot of assumption you're making. For every angry Behold II user, there are plenty of happy Samsung customers, like me. Having actually read the reviews and watched the videos, I can see that this phone is nothing like the last-gen. Touchwiz has come together as a platform, and the hardware is now just as (if not more) advanced than other phones.

The fact that there was only one 500 minute plan available to get a discount is more evidence that t-mobile did not want the device to be successful. Do you honestly believe if t-mobile offered to pay a commission to google for selling all of their individual and family plans that google would have said no? Of course not.
Or if t-mobile had said to google we really like the nexus one and we'd like to carry in our stores as our flagship android phone they would've said no? T-mobile never wanted it. You're trying to excuse t-mobile's bad management when there is no excuse.

Well, if complaining makes you feel better than by all means go ahead. Just don't think for one second that the corporate heads at T-Mobile give a **** about what jet1000 posts on the TmoNews forums. After all, they are the millionaires running T-Mobile and your just a peasant to them.
