im sure the SGS will get updated to 2.2 FroYo cuhz this is Samsung's FLAGSHIP phone that's goin to 100+ country's (and maybe all Big 4 in the US).. the SGS has the highest specs so far (1GHz Hummingbird processor, 4.0in. Super AMOLED screen, etc).. Samsung is starting to build up hype for it in the US ( http://www.androidguys.com/2010/06/08/samsung-teasing-galaxy-save-date-emails/ ).. their previous Android phones were like test phonesto them im guessing (remember the the original Galaxy?), so they dont care to waste R&D towards those phones since they hit GOLD with the SGS.. atleast thats what they think.

but i actually like this phone.. overall, its nice.. but im not gettin it tho cuhz of TW3.0.. it looks nice, and there was some things i like in it (like the camera UI and the picture/video album UI),, but it looks too similar to iPhone OS.. also i want the normal Android buttons.. does it have a trackpad? and it doesn't have a keyboard =(

Yes it has a trackpad that is touch sensitive which also serves as the home button. It's not like the trackball on the MyTouch and G1 but still does the same thing. I agree about the keyboard though. I miss the keyboard on my Touch Pro 2 but I do not miss WINMO. After using a MyTouch for the past month I am actully pretty suprised how easy it got using the virtual keyboard. Regarding the TouchWiz 3.0, I like it alot. GSM Arena listed all of the things you could do with it in there 9 page review. They also said there was a option in the menu to turn it off but still get to keep all of the cool widgets it comes with. Lastly they say once you use the new TouchWiz, your never going to wanna go back to vanilla Android.

Samsung can also make a better flagship phone, now with Android 2.2! *repeat for every new Android version*

Where did you hear that the home button doubles as a trackpad?

I'd like to know this too... Haven't read it in any of the reviews, or seen it in any video. Although looking at it, you would naturally assume that's what it is for.

I didn't hear it had a track-pad. I saw someone scrolling through a webpage with it in a video about a month ago. I thought it was quite obvious it was a track-pad. Kinda pointless to have a home button that big.

Anyone able to locate this video? I have yet to see it done.

Dude, why does it matter? You will find out soon enough. If it doesn't then don't buy it. Just means one less person that I have to compete with over this phone. =) A trackpad is no deal breaker for me.

Yeah it's not in the Chiu video. I'm curious also, but we should just ask one of the many Europeans or Asians who already own this phone! :D

I dont know how much credibility this site has but after word that Samsung has sent out recent e-mails about the date of June 29th this lil article seems to confirm things about it coming to T-Mobile in July:

What do you guys think?

If the Tmobile version isn't stripped down, I'll pick it up right away. The hummingbird and Super AMOLED display are amazing and likely enough to hold me over for a while. It will likely get 2.2 as other phones will have it by the time it launches and with google slwing down updates Samsung may not even need to update to keep the phone relatively current.

Interesting. I still question any article based on a single source, 2nd hand through a "friend". With announcement and potential release all within in the next 6 weeks or so, we'll get to stop speculating soon. I'm still expecting to be disappointed, but will be extremely happy to be wrong.

Funny how this article say's it still has all of the same specs including the 1ghz Snapdragon. That comment alone discredits article being that the Galaxy S was never supposed to have a Snapdragon.

is it true that this thing'll lack flash for the camera? I was willing to deal with the ugly iPhoney UI but no flash for a high end camera?  That'll be the straw that break this camel's back :(
