What do you think of the upcoming Motorola Cliq XT, I currently have the Cliq, is it just another Cliq with no keyboard?

Is the display better on the 1st gen cliq? 256k as` opposed to 65k on the xt?

i think that the cliq's screen is better.

no, it should maybe boost the performance of the phone, and maybe wont have the same bugs the Cliq has

I plan on grabbing one. I think this phone is flying under the radar because of what version of Android its running....which is a shame. Take the specs on this XT and match it up against the MyTouch or the G1 and it is significantly a better phone. Subjective features like a keyboard may be what prevents one person from buying one, but the space it saves by not having one may be why someone does. Price point is perfect, and since its already scheduled to be upgraded to 2.1 I don't see how anyone can go wrong with this phone.

I'm thinking about it too. I have a cliq I got off Craigs. So, if the xt works for me I'll just sell my cliq.
I want to wait and see the HD2 though, dnag that is sweeet!!!
They are both coming out about the same time..so it will be one or the other :D

LOL. Quite a gap between the two. I think the MAIN thing you have to consider with the HD2 is that the Win6.5 is done, and supposedly will never be upgradeable. However, Android is just at the beginning of its life. I'd love to find an excuse to buy that HD2 since that $199 price is so attractive. But even amazing hardware can't make me overlook the fact that it's a dead end OS. Quite a shame if you ask me. If you're really looking for a high spec phone like the HD2 it may be worth your time and money to just shop for an unlocked phone and pop a T-Mo sim into it.

True, big variances in handsets. The sense ui can only hide so much of the sucky 6.5...although there is speculation, more like blind faith, that win 7 will be upgradable. HTC says it's windows deal and windows says it's the manufactures deal.
I had a N1..didn't like it much...I've got my reasons  but it wasn't for me.
I like the N900..but a few things have to be sorted out before I buy, like portait and no mms? fail!

I guess it all comes down to which handset suits your needs. I've been a Crackberry addict for the past 3 years. To be honest, I'm tired of the small display, small keys, and the same boring UI. It's just getting old. I do 3000+ minutes a month with personal and business calls mixed. I use UMA non-stop, and rely on my BB to sort out 8 different email inboxes for me. However, I have kept myself organized by sync'ing my BB calendar and contacts with Google Calendar and Gmail Contacts via Google Sync. This sync kicks in every two hours and keeps things pretty tidy. However, if I upgrade my BB firmware and reactivate Google Sync things get a little fuzzy. Some duplicates and missing entries are not uncommon. Enter Android. I love the fact it sync's with the "cloud" in real-time. I love that if I upgrade my Android OS that my handset will just suck all info down from the cloud and everything will be just the way I like it. I like that when I read RSS or other news that I don't have to squint with the slightly larger display. I like that I'll be able to use Swype instead of being crazy careful with my big fingers on my small 8900 keypad. I will miss UMA with the BB. I will miss the no-bullsh**/all business feel of the BB. I will miss certain apps I have paid for. I think that the Cliq XT is a perfect size.....ever so slightly larger than a BB Pearl. I also like that I'll be able to finally try 3G. I also like that I'll be able to fall back on WiFi and Voip apps in case 3G is sketchy. Throw in RSS manager, stereo bluetooth, AGPS and a 5mp camera and I'm pretty psyched up about this XT. Nice little package.

My Cliq took over today, while I was on a phone call, it randomly dialed a phone number without me doing anything, really odd, never happened before, so lets hope the Cliq XT does not have the bugs the Cliq has

I picked up a Cliq XT over the past weekend and all I can say is that this phone is running very nice and smoothly....easy to set up accounts, I like the responsive touch screen, so many bells and whistles I'm sure there is more to be discovered!!   **FYI I picked this up @ WalMart with a 2 yr renewal $48.88**  very sweet deal!!     ;D ;D

Android should have a built in RSS reader and something that pulls from other social networks.
