Who else thinks the mytouch 'slide' is stupid?

i think it seems stupid. the point of the mytouch is not to have a keyboard. IMO the slide part sounds stupid and i dont want it being the same form factor as a sidekick. sidekick was a cool idea but its just not for me.

Actually, I have to disagree with you. Yes, the whole point of MyTouch is full touchscreen... BUT, where as, someone like me, I love the Mytouch... but I cant do on-screen keyboards, I need a physical one.. so this Mytouch Slide would be perfect for someone like me.  

If it is a decent 5 row keyboard, I'm all for it.

i like the real keyboards, the g1 and cliq are 2 of my favorite androids because they have keyboards. i had a mytouch for 5 days until i said screw it i cant type on this. lol.

but the slide part sounds stupid. i dont like the sidekick form factor. i like the keyboard just not the form factor.

If you want a keyboard, buy a G1 and upgrade the Android OS. This can't have a form factor even close to the MyTouch.

G1 doesn't have the memory of the MyTouch. Either way, I am still holding out for something like an N1 with a keyboard.

the nexus one has a fine vk. its not the best but its comparable to the iphones vk.

I am sorry but I text and email too much for a VK. Plus I have fat thumbs. I can handle T9 on the Behold but I only use that on weekends.

yeah i understand that. a great virtual keyboard will never be as good as a real keyboard.

Sounds just fine, as long as its got the latest hardware, HTC sense, and android 2.x.

Id prefer it not look like a sidekick though. They always seemed ugly to me. I highly doubt HTC would make a device look anything like a sidekick though.

Well what would you call it? The sidekick slide seems unattractive.

It just does not seem practical IMO.  Maybe it's just me.

How about we wait and *see* the device before calling it stupid. MyTouch is just a brand and as long as it has a touchscreen the name is still applicable.

For some reason I'm going to be suprised if it has something other then the 528Mhz Qualcomm proc.

Snapdragon would be nice. I need a new phone. g1 is getting old. Although I still love it.
