sorry if this topic might seem a little out of place but i am hoping someone can have some insights on my question.

i am currently using Touchpro 2 (also had a Wing before).  the email program on window mobile is able to sync with my yahoo mail.  when i say sync, i mean i can have the same emails, same folders all sync both on yahoo mail and touchpro 2 at the same time.  if i write a email on my phone, it's sync to the yahoo mail and i will find it there as well.

because my email volume keep increasing, i find yahoo mail's search function inadequate so i want to migrate to outlook on my desktop.  suprisingly, i found out that i cannot sync between my desktop outlook 2007 to yahoo mail....outlook will only download INBOX only.  it will not sync with any other folders.

this is killing me.  is there anyway to sync between outlook and yahoo mail.....is there anything i am missing?  isn't the outlook 2007 suppose to be more powerful than my tiny little window mobile?

The reason you cannot sync between outlook and yahoo on your desktop is because yahoo requires a mailplus account which costs $9 dollars i believe, now on some mobile phones it doesnt cost money and seeing as how tmobile and yahoo has a partnership, if you try to access it from a tmobile handset it should work, the desktop version is called outlook because it is outlook, the mobile version is called outlook but its actually exchange/activesync. But as usual we alway try to find our members a fix, if you will refer to the link below, i believe it will solve your problem.

I think once you pay for yahoo's services they should be available to you on all levels at no extra charge.

The POP3 protocol doesn't allow for the download of multiple folders. That's not a limitation of Outlook, it's how the protocol is defined/how it works.
To be able to download other folders you need to use the IMAP protocol or a real server based email system that supports complete synchronization. I'm not a yahoo user, so I can't tell you if yahoo supports IMAP or not.

Keep in mind, that with both POP3 and IMAP it's not a sync in the true sense of the word. Synchronization implies bi-directional updating and neither POP nor IMAP do that.
To have true synchronization of all mailbox contents (contacts, calendar, folders, mails, tasks etc etc) with Pocket Outlook and (Office) Outlook you need to switch to a system such as Exchange Server - or use another system that utilizes ActiveSync or some other proprietary synching technology (example: BlackBerry)

Hosted Exchange accounts run around $10-$15 per month depending on the mailbox size. Just do a web search for Hosted Exchange - you'll likely find a provider in your area.
