Well I'm hoping for at least 700mhz, 3.5" screen, 288RAM and although I don't want a custom UI on my primary android phone I would settle because my poor G1 can't take it anymore. Only use I have for my G1 now is using it as a modem and testing the apps I help out with or get paid for. Texting is horrible or should I say typing because it loses its place when I type and delays. Its at the point eclair parts are being used and stuff is getting ported and we probably won't ever see 2.0 officially.

The 7227 is clocked at 600 but Sense UI isn't slow on the Legend. Sense is pretty sweet if the hardware can handle it and second-gen Android hardware can definitely handle Sense.

Sorry for being a Debbie downer but, Sprint is getting The Evo 4G, Verizon is getting the Incredible, and we get the mytouch slide?? the specs are no comparison. T-mobile must be getting a ton of sales off of their mid line Android phones.

It's going to sell a lot for sure. A MyTouch with a hardware keyboard. A lot of people don't like typing on software keyboards. T-Mobile does need a flagship though, but I have a feeling it's coming in Q4 with HSPA+ as the G1 early adopters have their contracts run out.

I hope your right Godzilla,
I want to actually use my upgrade for a good phone so I can stop paying so much for unlocked phones.
I hate that T-mobile got the HD2 as their flagship, especially since Its a dead OS on the phone. As in non upgradable. I think if someone had the choice they would go with the droid/incredible/evo 4G before they go with Windows Mobile 6.5

Windows Mobile was dead to developers and Microsoft long before WP7 was announced. Of course anyone would go with top of the line second-gen Android hardware over WM, unless they're using SERO on Sprint which only allows WM. The WM thread on another forum I go to is only populated by SERO users who can only use Touch Pro 2s.

I'm in the same boat with you. I am very much a google user but have been using nokia unlocked phones bought off ebay that aren't 3g compatible and syncing all of my google programs. I did have the mda and the shadow as windows phones but I was so stuck on keeping my tzones I still had to lose it in the process.

Anywhoo I think this phone is just perfect 1st google phone as long as the specs are good. I am suppose to be getting a rooted g1 soon to play around with and develop until this phone comes out. I really hope they don't do thins phone wrong. It should have at leats a 700mhz processor and android 2.1. (My wishes)

I'm not sure. I kind of want to create a checkbook app and have it sync with my home database server. Anything else I can learn in the process would be cool

Well looks like I might get this device if those specs are true plus live wallpaper aren't a big deal and don't waste that much power. It's sorta a gimmick but specs aren't bad and if the processor is 600mhz still could have a dedicated YOU if it can handle Raging thunder 2

I'll pass and get the Galaxy S.

This should be a pretty solid handset though.

I think this just got sold to me.  3.5in screen is a nice surprise.  Not real upset that all I would lose is live wallpapers.

I'm only getting it because of my G1 is crying for a break and its only use to me now is a hotspot honestly although I still love it. If we get the Galaxy S then I'll purchase it as well but then again I'm not a fan of touchwiz but specs alone are amazing.

I will be getting the Mytouch slide but I sure wish it had stock Android instead of Sense 2.1 but I'll deal but lets all celebrate we are getting some sort of improvement although there obvious thinga we could point out like 3.5" meaning 480x320 which sadden me.

P.S. The Mytouch Slide system image leaked on xda so I bet devs will have a beta soon

Android 2.1 for life, because that's what's happening to the Galaxy S.

Trill, this thing should be able to handle games if it's got the Qualcomm 7227. The 7227 has the same GPU as Snapgradon, just with less processing power (600 MHz but less power usage than the 528 in nearly every Android device.)

The downside to Sense UI is that you won't receive Android updates that quick. But hey, look at the MT3G. I haven't heard a peep about 2.1 from what I remember. Maybe 2.1 will come about when the Slider comes out?

You can disable to an extent, but you'll still be using the Sense launcher or Rosie. I don't know why you'd want to disable Sense if the hardware can handle it, the widgets for Sense are better than stock Android (you can scroll in Sense widgets.)

I'm more of a simplistic person i don't use hardly any widgets i feel they are constantly active so they burn up battery. Only widget i use on my nexus is the search, power, and weather. If i need to go to messages or something, i just launch the app, albeit Sense UI do have nice widgets. Even though i enjoy some of the 3d games like the baseball i hardly play them, i played sonic and all that stuff wayyyy more.

With the 600mhz processor, screen size and the RAM/ROM stats this phone should get great sales. Everyone loves a real keyboard. Also I'm sure it will be rooted in no time and you will be able to throw stock 2.1 on it. Plus it depends what kind of screen it is before you can bash the 320X480. I'm not a fan of apple but the 3Gs has 320x480 and its a beautiful screen.

What is so strange about this device is... its allegedly being released in a month and we have so little info on it. I just hope the latest rumored specs are correct. The 512MB of RAM will surely make up for the slower processor. Of course, I really believ this will end up with the same specs as the mt3g1.2/fender. But hey.... 256MB is plenty really. At least compared to my G1, and by the time we get a hold of it at xda dev... it will be flying. I'll keep an eye on it at thr FCC website and see what else unfolds. We can always add lwp so don't worry about that. Its just a sweet gimic and eats ram.
