Fedex just called and woke me up, letting me know its out for delivery...ugh.  Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much, because they charged my card right away...and it shipped with about a matter or hours with the free engraving.  So I think it just depending on where its shipping to, and who worked your order.  I will say though, from what I was told....HTC had made tons of these phones already, to be prepared for getting slammed.  So you should have your phone today....

Does anyone know if it comes with a screen protector. I need one until Invisible Shield makes one for Nexus One

got my shipping information after midnight last night.  It appears it is already out on a truck and on the way to my office!  yay for Google.  Hopefully other manufacturers can follow the same practice on device announcement/launch/immediate availability.

thats one thing that gives them an edge over apple, but it has a downside. Apple announces a phone and usually waits a few weeks or months to ship, which I personally don't like. But in those weeks they build up hype and interest, leading to soaring sales. The Nexus One sales model is pretty damn good imo, but sales wise, the only ones who really know about the nexus one are us phone whores! So the sales will be more subdued for a while. But the ads for the nexus one are everywhere online, so they are getting the word out

Honestly, if it were NOT, I don't think I will care.  LOL...it was free anyway, but I am pretty sure that the good name of 'Google' will hold true to their word...

I had a hard time spending $462 ($412 after rebate) for the N900 and it has more stuff:

1. 32gb extra
2. FM radio
3. Keyboard
4. Video out
5. Tons more video codecs

Not sure I could justify $562 for less device, but funny how I would have had zero problem buying it if Nexus had a keyboard.  Need a G1 replacement, but need a keyboard.  My bias due to this issue is blinding.

Still, Nexus looks like a fun device :)

I'm big on keyboards too, but for this phone the pros outweigh the cons to me, the only con being the lack of a hardware keyboard. I wish it had a keyboard, but I'm gonna get it regardless

I'm gonna give it a few weeks of use and hold onto my N900 just in case.  The N900 has really been frustrating me lately.  And if there is no update to allow portrait functionality in at least some of the apps I'll probably be done.  The browser is awesome but tends to get really, really slow at rendering after a full days use without deleting browser history.  The phone also tends to get real laggy at times in general.  I'm sure with a update to fix processor/memory management this can be fixed but it sure is getting frustrating.  The N900 with a bit more polish/time in the oven has alot of potential some I'm reluctant to let go of it.  Lack of google maps/sync is a big no-no.

Anyhow, back on topic, FedEx usually is at my office before noon.  Status shows my N1 to be on the truck for delivery.  Hopefully I'll have this baby in my hands within the hour!
