Windows Mobile 7 delayed until the end of 2010?

In a Q&A session at the ‘Connect!’ technology summit in London recently, Microsoft UK head of mobility Phil Moore confirmed Windows Mobile 7 will not be showing up very soon.
"It has been put back until late next year but it is definitely coming. You’re going to see a lot more on Windows Mobile 7. Giving the enterprise users and consumers what they want will be part of Windows Mobile 7. You’ll get flexibility on a much easier touch UI."
Late 2010 suggests a Q4 rather than Q3 launch. The launch date is important for buyers deciding if its worth waiting for the improved user interface of the upcoming OS, or buying a handset now.
Windows Mobile 7 has been an OS that appears to have been eternally delayed, with the software seemingly in development since 2005, and having seen rumoured launch dates as early as 2008. Hopefully in the increasingly competitive environment we will not see further slippage of the major software project.

If HD2 is delayed until LATE 2010 it might.  I would rather see the HD2 come out in Q1 with 6.5 and then upgrade to 7.

Dude im a android pimp, i started loosing interest when i got the tp2 but lyfe got me back on the ball. but its not too late for windows mobile, dont forget who you're dealing with here. microsoft os can die and when they drop winmo 7 i might blow everyone else out of the box..they do have some the best software engineers in the world. dont sleep son. these guys have been talking about it since 2005 and remember all those things like mms and video recording that some os didnt have from the jump winmo did. i admit they've slipped, but they'll recover. i have faith  in them.

Thers something im not getting here, if its going into beta in march when is it sopposed to be released i mean didnt they say it was going to goto beta which means testing in march they're supposed to release it in april? thats gonna take months. i bet when its released its going to blow your mind.

I personally don't have confidence in MS. Sure, they can pull off some amazing stuff. The hardware will at least be top-notch for WM7 devices as seen by some specs for them that MS mandates. Microsoft isn't going to skate to where the puck will be in late 2010, they are going to skate to where the puck is now. That will be the death blow for WM, as if it isn't on its last knees.
