Verizon has iPhone starting Feb. 10th, pre-order Feb 3rd.
Not able to call and surf, at the same time, 3g (not LTE) and is a NON_EXCLUSIVE agreement. It is available to others.

They did say it was non exclusive.  But they didn't say it was available to others.  I guess they could make it available to Sprint fairly easy.  But would still need an AWS version for T-Mobile.

It will come eventually.  Apple won't turn it's back on all of the T-Mobile money.

T-Mobile in it's entirety is a powerful company. T-Mo US is just one piece of the puzzle.
I support anyone who brings about competition and innovation. Be it Google, Apple, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Palm, Microsoft, RIM, LG, Sharp, or anyone else I may have forgot. Variety is great. What's good for one person, is dead wrong for another.

Since its a non-exclusive deal with Verizon (nor AT&T, since their love-hate marriage contract is done), its just a matter of time til Tmo gets the iPhone (which i don't care for).. I bet we'll get the iPhone 5 this summer (or late summer).. if not, i dont know what to think about Tmo+iPhone anymore.

I kind think also that it could come in the summer with the iPhone 5 as an AWS device (?). If it does not come then, it may be another year or so before it does. You would think that it would come to all carriers sooner or later.

@ Viper - What if it does not come? I'll just keep truckin with my G2 (don't know that i want one now anyways) that has a bigger screen & faster network until something else comes along that I want. Waiting now for the iPad 2, that will have me set except for having to use AT&T 3G (come on TMO get in the game).

If you have a G2, why would you not use its hotspot with the iPad 2 and skip AT&T 3G altogether?

IDK if its actually going to be coming to T-Mobile anytime if they are continuing to make fun of these companies.

Verizon did in commercials also ("iDont"), and i think one of Verizon's executives (or a few) said something bad against Apple (and AT&T of course).. but they still got it.. money is money.. customer gain is customer gain.. same could happen with Tmo.. plus they're talking bad about the carriers/competition, not the iPhone.. so watch out for iPhone 5+Tmo this summer.

If the iPhone really comes to T-Mobile... this day has been such a long time coming for so many people. I want it to happen just to see everyone finally have the CHOICES they deserve.

I say it will happen.

What Philip Humm wants he usually gets. IDK if it can apply at all to the USA division or not.

@ jet1000 - the iPad is set up to allow for a monthly charge only and requires no contract if desired, for use with ATT. Would not want to always have to have my phone around to be able to jump out on the internet or to have to do anything but click on the internet and go (no pairing, turn on /turn off etc..). I know that's lazy, but hey I'm paying for it so why not get it to work the way i want. Would love the iPad 2 to be offered with an HSPA+ connection on TMO, they just better do it when the iPad 2 first comes out, because I'll be one those idiots waiting in line first day (I've waited a long time for one).

I also hope the iPhone comes to TMO just for the people who want one and have been using edge version for years. It would also increase the amount of TMO's users, because of better pricing and service. I would also pick one up for an extra, just because.

How they release the iPad 2 will probably give a pretty good indicator for what options will exist for the iPhone 5.  If the chip in the iPad 2 supports TMobile USA then more than likely so will the iPhone 5.  If not, its not looking so good for 2011.  I would be highly surprised if a TMobile USA compatible version of the iPhone 4 is released similar to the upcoming Verizon release, that release just wreaks of "special circumstances" in my opinion.

I would agree that the iPhone 4 is not an option but like you said the chip in the new total redesigned iPhone 5 will tell the tale for 2011.
Iphone 5 rumored possible spec's Dual core, possible 3.7"-4" retina display, multicore GPU, possible AWS ( LTE or HSPA+ ?). Rumors on the Apple boards is that Apple is coming to play hard in the Phone and Tablet markets, to slow down android phones by opening to multiple carriers and creating a larger gap in the the tablet field than they already have.

I doubt t-mobile usa will get the iphone anytime soon. i think verizon demand will be very strong, and if anything they will add sprint b/c it requires no supply changes if they feel demand softens, but i think they will be careful to prevent demand from far exceeding supply b/c it will not help their image.  as they shore up supply to match the demand they already have, creating a special phone for t-mobile usa will be even more difficult than it is now and tmobile's HSPA+ choice makes this issue a lingering problem for at least a few years imo.

If the other 3 have it and T-Mo doesn't....that leaves T-Mo with the Michael Dell advice..."I'd shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders."

Humm got it for T-Mo parent. Despite David's front page assertion, I would be absolutely shocked and floored if iPad 2 AND iPhone 5 are not on T-Mo this year (spring/summer).

Supply concerns are really secondary. They can't make enough for last holiday season (world wide) yet they are adding Verizon next month.
