I'm using my blackberry at the moment and I hope this is where I should be posting a question?

I've had the Blackberry 9700 since this past Monday, the 16th, and have been having some "freezing" up issues.

What happens is when using the phone.. When sending a text message, the phone freezes and I have to power it down. When I restart the phone I receive the following error message in a dialog box with an exclamation mark:

Application
net_rim_bb_messaging_app
(57) is not responding;
process terminated

Can anyone help me out with this? I figured doing a battery pull would resolve this, but failed to do so. I have also removed the BBM and got the same error message. I have also tried re-installing the BBM without resolution.

Thanks for any ideas or help,

- Anthony

Okay I've had this problem before. It looks like something you installed. An app I believe that is causing these issues. So far what apps have you install on your 9700?

I have only activated the facebook application and also removed some games that I didn't care for that were pre-installed as to free up some memory space. I have yet to download any applications except for the BBM after removing it. It happens at least once per day with the error message and is getting to be quite often.

Hmm then it might be a corrupt file. Reload the OS

Ok hold on. Let's try this first before we reload the OS.

When your Bold 9700 is POWERED ON remove the Battery
Leave it out for 30 seconds
Put it back in there

Let me know how that goes.

Hey! I did that and no freezing as of yet. Its typical for it to do it a couple times per day so I'll be sure and update you if it happens again. Thank you for the advice. Some of my friends have the 9700 as well and they had no idea why its happening because theirs is working just fine.

i am considering on becoming a blackberry user early next year, and i have seen some reviews about the browser saying they werent impressed by the browser, is it good? the web browser is one of the many features of a cell phone/smartphone that i love to use when i'm on the go. i like to read weather updates and check my facebook or myspace. i dont have 3g in my city yet and dont know when or if we will, but we have plenty of wifi signals here because this is a college town. so how does the browser work on wifi? and can you use skyfire and opera mini 10 on this phone?

Browser is the same as with all other Blackberry devices. Nothing new. It's the same that is on the 8900, BB Tour, Storm, Storm 2, and BB 8520.

If you mean in terms of loading via 3G, then it's somewhat fast, IMO. Nothing to brag out. RIM needs to get with the program.

To improve the experience of the browser on the 9700, you need to open up the browser, press the menu button, select "options", then slect "browser configurations", go down to browser configuration (blackberry will be highlighted), select firefox. Then you will get the full page instead of the mobile version.
