Report coming in that some cities are starting to get 7.2 3G speeds by rebooting their 3G handset?

Anyone try this?

I'll give it a whirl this weekend.  I can't do it at home since I usually get edge here with a token tease of 3G once in a while.

1318kbps from mobilespeedtest.com on my TP2 doing 1mb test. That seems to place me between "Fast 3G" and "Basic DSL"  ;D

I've got to figure out how to tether, I've read somewhere just now it's even faster when you tether. I've done the test a few times and am satisfied with my result...

I have no idea if this is what I got before, never did a speed test before :P I'm in Austin, TX

Edit: Wow. 2mb file downloaded in 14 seconds on a mobile device... that is quick to me. *fond memories of how cool it was to have GPRS web in 2003*

LMFAO.. I rebooted and from mobilespeedtest.com I got:

I tried three times and that was the lowest result. I'm not sure of conversions from kbps to mbps, so does that match up with this?:

I am tending not to believe mobilespeedtest.com... lol... that just seems way too high. I'm testing a bunch of other sites and am getting more between 1800-2200kbps

So wouldn't the G1 go from 3G to H?

Doesn't the "H" mean HSDPA?
