Does the EIP for 20 mnths also mean that you need good credit as well? Or will they have to pay a deposit?

Flexpay activations won't be eligible for it, they will have the same process just new rate plans.

Aw, I see. Does anyone have any idea what the maximum T-Mobile charges for a deposit to get a 2-year contract subsidized phone and all if you have poor credit? I know AT&T wanted to charge me $300 w/ good credit, $500 w/ poor credit; Sprint was $500 w/ poor credit; Verizon was $400 max they said, and I lost my Alltel plan to Verizon during the merger, so I got a T-Mo FlexPay without trying to do an subsidy. Any idea if those credit check deposits will go higher or lower or the same? How much?

A Grandfathered plan might save me money.  Unless a discounted family plan is offered.  If let's say an unlimited plan is $50.  Then it would cost me $100 a month for 2 lines.  Right now I have everything I want for $80.  So why would I want the new rate?

Wasn't an early leak responsible for Alltel beating T-Mobile to the punch with the 5 person calling circle? Alltel got credit for the being "the first with an unlimited, all network calling circle"  - it should be T-Mobile's name out there. Each mention of a company's name is PR, and that drives interest and possible customers. myFaves ended up becoming kind of a big deal to a lot of people (and big enough that every carrier is now offering their own flavor of it)

... if this really is supposed to be that game changing, it's understandable why they'd be so tight lipped about it. They need to get their name out there as the "first carrier to offer [insert part of Project Black here]".
Agreed. I don't want that to happen again. It's just not fair to T-Mobile.

So this is pretty humorous, to see the same type of posts, no matter which side one subscribes to.

Look at all the posts on here and BGR.

One side has "people in a position to know, who do know, who are in on what's going on, and they say this is not a big deal, there are no handsets on Oct. 25, it's only some new plans, nothing that great."

The other side has "people in a position to know, who do know, who are in on what's going on, and they say this is a big deal, there are handsets on Oct. 25, it includes some new plans, and other great things."

Then there's people like me.  I don't know anyone except the T-Mo guy who is always taking a smoke break outside the T-Mo store near my p.o. box.  He does not know anything.  Hmm.... wait a minute:

Hey people, I was talking to someone the other day, in a position to know things, and he told me that T-Mo will be coming out with some new handsets in 2010.

There, now I am in the know and have things to post on T-Mo News.  I feel empowered.

Works different @ T-Mobile. You have three options they will give you. Good Credit=Postpaid Fair & NO Credit=Flexpay. They dont do a deposit. Forgot the third is sometimes they wont give you anything.

UPDATE: I just was told that it wasnt nothing big just 3 plans to make things simple.

It's likely Flexpay customers will be eligible for 4 month EIP

Check out the picture on the blog:

http://www.tmonews.com/2009/10/project-dark-sees-the-light/

While the Even More and Even More + seem to be a mystery, someone leaked a brief explanation of that earlier today:

Even More    current 2 year contract type with a subsidized phone discount.

Even More+    no time commitment or ETF, cheaper versions of the rate plans, and pay for a device over a 20 month period.

Please note the ad says: "most affordable" unlimited plans (plural)  If they can be more affordable than Cricket and Metro PCS, we have a winner!  If it's just more affordable than Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T....not so great...

I totally agree. In my town MetroPCS is getting really big. I don't leave the area much so it's not a big deal about not having the greatest coverage. I pay for my mom's phone and I got her Metro. After taxes I pay 52 for unlimited everything including data, all on 3G.

Imagine T-Mobiles new commercials. "So you want a better price for your service... We can help you with that. You want more 3G coverage? We can definitely help you with that. Thinking about trying the nations strongest and fastest 4G network? Yup. We can help there too. I suppose you'll want to use those networks on the best devices possible... and for cheap too. Like 8 dollars a month cheap. Not a problem. Did I forget to mention? We can do it all without contracts, hidden fees, faves, circles, or roll over minutes. Introducing T-Mobiles brand new unlimited and equipment installation plans. Giving you "Even More", for even less."
I support anyone who brings about competition and innovation. Be it Google, Apple, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Palm, Microsoft, RIM, LG, Sharp, or anyone else I may have forgot. Variety is great. What's good for one person, is dead wrong for another.

UPDATE: I just was told that it wasnt nothing big just 3 plans to make things simple.

Just to correct, Decent/Good Credit = PostPaid, Bad Credit or New/Building Credit = FlexPay Annual, Piss poor or no credit = FlexPay monthly (if you are only eligible for this, you either have really bad luck or just suck at life though)

What I find funny about this whole ordeal is I am an outsourced call center rep trained in General Care (the only outsourced center taking gen), FlexPay, Technical Care Tier I, and Extreme Roamer Reduction, all of which grant me a lot more access to Streamline than most other reps...Yet we have nothing new in Streamline regarding PD.  We generally are the first to see 'official updates' as anything posted on the net can be considered hearsay because once confirmed it generally goes into Streamline, however with something as supposedly big as this, I could see why it isn't there yet.  Although I also find it funny because operations told me I won't be in FlexPay or ERR coming up here soon which I find funny but seeing as it is coming up to holiday season and plus the huge Project Dark, it would be really bad PR to cancel another wave of ERR people.

So just for the information of the people not on the inside, I have access to all the main systems for an Internal Customer Care Rep....And we've got nothing for you.  This seems to be more of a store front end project and I just sure as hell hope it is good and that they give us the info at least a day or two prior to the release so we know about it prior to getting calls about it.....

Wouldn't the iphone door open for Tmobile US if TMOBILE UK merge with Orange since iphone is coming to Orange? A new phone does warrant a lot of training being it is a totally different device Tmobile is used to providing. Could this be a part of keeping us in the dark or black? This is probably old news but interesting. Could this be a loophole for Tmobile US to sell the iphone?  http://paidcontent.co.uk/article/419-orange-lands-uk-iphone-3g-3gs-deal-ends-o2s-exclusivity/
