I think this whole project dark thing is going to end up being nothing special. Guys like TMobilizer and DarkJedi won't say anything because they know it isn't anything good and like having the feeling that they have some power.
This reminds of the big deal they made when the Segway came out, how it was going to be an invention that would change everyones lives.

Does this mean they will grandfather the MyFaves plans?  I would be surprised if they did away with selling MyFaves plans.  That was what brought me to T-Mobile in 2006.  I hope they have a cheap unlimited family plan up their sleeves.

Yes, your current MyFaves plan will be grandfathered and safe.

They've invested too much into myFaves to give it up. Plus everyone else just added it and are advertising it, so it doesn't make sense to get rid of it now. They have the best interface too. The new plans will probably include myFaves.

This is a good point, if the new plans are going to be cheaper than the current plans(which all of us already have) then why would anyone want to be grandfathered into a more expensive plan

The only problem I have with the logic behind thinking that this is nothing big is that Project dark(black?) is being described as a game changer. Therefore, why have the NDAs and all the secrecy if it's simply ho hum rate plan changes? I think you can be sure that it will be similar or better than the pricing of Sprint's $69.99 unlimited mtm, sms, and data. If they truly want to unseat sprint they're going to have to sweeten the deal further... How will they do that? I guess only a few people know at this time, and they are reluctant to share for some reason...

If it truly is something as exciting as some people are making it out to be.... Tmobile may very well retain 5 lines of service because my family has been looking to jump ship as soon as our contract is up (dang that hero and $189 for basically unlimited mtm, sms, and text... for 5 lines, sure looks tempting)

I think the only reason why its not being leaked & others who know who havent signed that havent leaked it cuz then other carriers will find out they are being beat & will pull a fast one. I think it is unlimited everything for less than sprint.

Well just like any time T-Mobile has come out with new plans, if they are better for you, just change to the new plan.  I'm sure that's why they're preparing for a heavy work day on October 25th.  People like us who will be in the know could be changing our plans.  Of course, most of us will probably try to do it from home---I just hope their website can handle the traffic.

The only problem I have with the logic behind thinking that this is nothing big is that Project dark(black?) is being described as a game changer. Therefore, why have the NDAs and all the secrecy if it's simply ho hum rate plan changes?

I don't think anybody is expecting ho-hum rate changes.  I think people are expecting some big, eye-catching rate changes.  That being said, the employees who have been briefed and have shared what they know, haven't been given the prices.  The Tmonews guys have said in their posts and tweets, that they haven't got new plan pricing yet either.  Just proof of new plans.

So we'll have to wait to see how low will T-Mobile go....

I think the only reason why its not being leaked cuz then other carriers will find out they are being beat & will pull a fast one.

No doubt.  The other carriers know a rate change is coming.  But T-Mobile wants to blind side them with the new rate so they can't react beforehand.

My post was in response Anap40, but there might be some sarcasm there?

I think (hope) that tmobile has something awesome up their sleeves. I'd also like to see phones like the HTC Touch Pro 2 going for less than $350....

You ask a very good question, why would anyone want to grandfather in a plan unless it was better than the new one.  Maybe the new plans won't be cheaper....

I know this is probably a dumb question, but how is T-Mobile going to assist the customers who are on FlexPay simply because they had less than stellar credit and all that? But would have gone to a 2-year contract had that not been the case?

Does the EIP for 20 mnths also mean that you need good credit as well? Or will they have to pay a deposit?

Wasn't an early leak responsible for Alltel beating T-Mobile to the punch with the 5 person calling circle? Alltel got credit for the being "the first with an unlimited, all network calling circle"  - it should be T-Mobile's name out there. Each mention of a company's name is PR, and that drives interest and possible customers. myFaves ended up becoming kind of a big deal to a lot of people (and big enough that every carrier is now offering their own flavor of it)

... if this really is supposed to be that game changing, it's understandable why they'd be so tight lipped about it. They need to get their name out there as the "first carrier to offer [insert part of Project Black here]".

Flexpay activations won't be eligible for it, they will have the same process just new rate plans.

Yeah, you are right. The lady left T-Mobile after she knew what they were going to launch, and she went to Alltel, and gave them the idea, but made it a 10 person unlimited call, and changed the name.

They're not going to just automatically switch your plan for you though either. Just call in and choose the new, simpler (cheaper) plan that you want - I imagine they'll be doing heavy advertising for it anyway.

I think if its rate changes, tmobile will simply grandfather in all existing plans, leave it to the consumer to change..that way no contract changes are made and if its really cheaper then tmobile would actually want existing customers to continue on paying higher rates..

Just got back from my local tmo store.  I talked to a manager who hs had traingin.  She was very tight lipped.  I can confirm that uniforms will be changing to black and white.  "Devices have nothing to do with it." is a direct quote.  They also had a Moto Cliq demo that I played with.  Pretty sweet phone, felt well built.

Has the new uniform changed already? I been in three different stores, and they all have the black and white uniforms already, with managers in all black.
