i went to an authorized dealer today to do an upgrade.  i have a family plan with two lines.

1.  touch pro 2 for myself
2.  Samsung behold for my wife

I walked in the store, the rep told me that touch pro 2 would be 350 plus tax.  i am okay with that as i have known that already.  I had to run to a meeting so i told my wife to stay and take care the paperwork and everything.

when i got home, i saw the invoice for the Samsung Behold at "$180" and tax of "$45" (on msrg of 500).  wow, i don't think that's right, i called the tmobile store and they told me it's $79.99 after rebate for a two year extension.  plus the retail price at tmobile online is $449.99

Can they do that (i know auto dealer does that all the time)?  what are my options?   they also put "no return and exchange" on their invoice....what's up with that?

this really sucks, take away all the joy i have for the touch pro ii experience.

is this at the corporate store? if yes there is no such policy as no return and no refund, even if not you are covered under fair consumer act of wireless industry you can return any day with in 14 days except 30 days in california.
if not you gotta lot of phone calls to make, call CS complain them about the store the store ID is at the top of our contract and while you are on the phone they will call the store and you should be able to get the refund. when you get that get it from some other online retailer they are much more cheaper than a store

ok then just call the customer service and tell them whats all in the receipt, and they should be able to contact the retailer and you should be getting your money back. or jo and take a chance and say that you dont get the service and you want your full refund.
Corporate store are those which is owned and operated by T-Mobile itself and the authorized retailer is owned and operated by some body else, just like you and me can open a store and be a retailer for T-Mobile.

Corporate stores and the ones that don't constantly try to screw over customers and do shady crap to get higher commission...

I don't think there is anything you can do 'cause places like that usually set their own prices to the phones they sell. They send a portion of it to T-Mobile for being able to sell their stuff and keep the rest as their profit. Of course, that's just what I think. I've never looked into it or anything.

What was the tax based on? Just one of the phones or both? What is the sales tax rate where you live?

For example in NY State for both of those phones the tax sounds about right... if it is wrong that is not a Tmobile issue but more of a state issue with tax fraud.

Also If you went to an authorized dealer pricing is not the same as "T-mobile" themselves, sometimes they are but other times they vary higher or lower depending on how much the dealer paid for the devices.

Do you know the name of this dealer? It would be easy to look to see what level the dealer is on? There are a few levels of dealers. Some dealers cant sell it for a higher price, Not the price u paid for it.

How do you feel you got scammed? The behold has a 100.00 mail in rebate making in 79.99 after rebate. Also most state laws require the dealer to charge for the cost of the phone not the discounted price on the phone. Like if they give you a phone for free they still have to charge you the taxes for the cost. so if the phone cost is 300.00 and they give it to you for free you would have to pay 30.00 if your tax was 10%. Also to all readers dealers and corporate stores alike LOSE money everytime they sell you a phone. They make money by selling you the plan. I've worked in the cellphone business a long time and understand the business very well. Most companies are not looking to rip you off in the taxes. They are required by law to charge you that way.  Dealers are a little more lenient with their pricing as they can price down msrp if they wanted to as corporate store can't. However corporate store employees are a little more knowledgeable on phones so if you have any phone issues definitely take yourself to corporate but if you want a particular phone for cheap go to a dealer armed with the price corporate would charge and watch them lower their prices :)

Indirect dealers constantly screw up customers accounts and pull shady stuff, stick to corporate stores, and most of the time if you are friendly, they will price match an indirect dealers price. Indirect dealers can charge you to pay your bill, raise prices, drop prices, charge extra "fees" etc..
